Latest Patch: New Issue With Multiple Monitor Support

Post » Sun May 22, 2011 11:16 pm

Cry-Tom, or someone else:

I am running Crysis on 3 monitors at a resolution of 4800x1200. After installing the latest patch, I see that you have changed the position of the map and energy huds. Prior to the update, the map hud was at the far left side of my left monitor. The energy hud was at the far right side of my right monitor.

After the update, they are now centered in between my monitors. The map hud is centered between my left and center monitor. The energy hud is centered between my center and right monitor. I can upload a photo of this if you wish.

This is very annoying and makes the huds difficult to read since they are centered on the monitor boundaries and are split in half across the monitors.

Crytek, would it be possible to add an option to let us adjust the x coordinate of those huds? Or an option to flip it between the old style and the new style? Ideally, I would prefer that the huds appear only on my center monitor so I don't have to look far to the left or right to see them.

maybe crytek wanted to center the HUD so people with multiple monitors wouldn't have difficulties playing with the hud overextended

perphaps if you change the screen resolution the hud will move?

Yes, that's probably why they did it. I would prefer not changing my resolution away from native just to move the hud though. I noticed in their release notes that they made changes related to multi monitor and it definitely shows. Multiplayer screens are no longer cut off or distorted like they used to be. +1 to Crytek for that at least.

Interesting, im running 3x1920x1080 and now the info is on the middle of the side screens.
Its better, but i would prefer them on the middle, like BC2. They need to set it to scale vertically not horizontally.

Is it possible for you to run the game windowed and then just move it to one monitor?

I've seen a similiar issue in other games =/

I have two GTX 580 cards. In the NVIDIA control panel, you can tell it to span the desktop across all monitors so that the resolution is 4800x1200. In Crysis, I told it my resolution is 4800x1200 and I can play in panoramic mode.
