Stealth vs Power

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 8:32 am

I was just wondering what the majority of you guys use as your searching for enemies? Because for the most part I used to use allot of stealth but lately I have been playing some ranked maches against some extremely good players and I kinda realized that they don't use stealth as much as they just use power, evading enemy fire and running around the map in squads. Just was wondering what as a hole you guys find to be the best strategy before going into armor mode for engaging enemies. .

Power is better. Letting my energy drain, just because I am paranoid does not make any sense. I only use stealth, when I'm under fire and need to switch positions, but except for that, I mainly use Power and Armor.

Well you see, cloak is nice but if you are on multi then you are somewhat visible to the other players, if they have a keen eye. but with cloak once you shoot you are out of energy leaving you defenseless, and if you get shot in cloak it takes more energy away.
I guess you just have to know when to use it.

But I dont lol, thats the problem. It seems useful but idk, I spent all day today playing while ignoring stealth mode, mostlly unless I see multiple enemies on my radar, but if I only see like one dot on my radar then I just run over to it in power mode.

Any one have any input on when to use stealth over power?

Don't you mean armor?
Stealth is useful (for me) in the following circumstances:

-When you think no one sees you and you want to advance towards the enemy.
-When you want to get away, or flank the enemy while you think they don't know your exact position
-taking alternative routes where no one will be looking at you. I usually run on top of the wall next to the glass house on skyline, for example.

Other than that, running around cloaked is only useful when you are not in a place where the action usually is taking place, like around and in the glass house on skyline.

Cloaking while the enemy sees you will only make you more visible. Cloaking while the enemy knows your general position, like behind a corner, will get you killed.

Most of my "busted" kills come from idiots who think they can get away by cloaking while I'm shooting at them. Priceless.

Yeah, I'll admit I ain't the best at timing out my cloak, and armor.
Cloak is just soooo tempting.
