When i play crysis 2 i load up the game with no problem and i'll resume my game, but as soon as the loading screen is done my screen freezes but it is not my computer freezing its just the graphics that are frozen. because it could be a cut scene and the graphics would stop but my sound keeps going on. my theory is this: my graphics are freezing because i only have a dual core processor and both cores are maxed out at 100% all the time but my ram is fine, and my sound keeps going on because i bought a sound card that takes the sound portion of the stress off the motherboard. so before i go spending hundreds of dollars on a new processor i would like to make sure it's not my graphics card (and yes i updated all the drivers). i just want to know for certain that it is my processor
computer specs:
Processor AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+, 3000 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s)
GeForce 9600 GT
windows 7 64 bit.
Same thing happens to me occasionally. Normally it runs smooth at 40+ FPS, but sometimes the game just freezes every 10 seconds. A reboot usually fixes it though. I'm on a GT 240.
