What are you most looking forward to in brink?

Post » Fri Aug 14, 2009 4:47 am

Single player and bots ( I voted co/op/single player, and single player ).

Too many games are online only MP, this will be a breath of fresh air, it's a damn shame about the game requiring steam though. Forced online for retail customers and people like me who have bad internet/don't play online anyway is just B.S.

actually steam is either on or offline, you can download it when you can, or simply download it to a usb from your library, and preorder a disc copy of the game from the store

Jus cuz because are excited to create their character doesn't mean they're not looking forward to gameplay, jus means that when you don't have the game what you're really looking forward to, is to be making "yourself" within the game

Yea, I can understand people being exited to make a character. It's perfectly fine to be exited about it.
But I'm afraid because it just gives me a bad feeling. Just think about it: You buy a shooter game because you can customize the look of your character? Doesn't that sound weird?
Or am I seeing it wrong?

the idea of character customization is to be yourself and choose what looks cool, someone might even recognize your unique appearance, people aren't buying TO customize, it is simply a fun feature that excites people because it isn't seen very much in shooters (in cod you are a random person the only thing to remember is a name) oh and if you want revenge, you can make a split second choice (the guy in the mow hawk & goatee) vs. waiting for a tag to pop up

Makes sense. Still I'm not feeling completely comfortable.
Ofcourse if you get killed by someone time after time, you'll notice him before he kills you again.

On a sidenote: I don't think name recognition should be underestimated. I quit ET after 5 years of intensive playing and a year later I connected to some random servers and multiple people remembered my name and colours.

Indeed, I went with character customization but really the whole game is looking great. I have a feeling I'm really going to enjoy the SMART system and a game where Team work is forced. I love teamwork so this will be great. Plus I have a friend who's going medic to my soldier. Agh I cant wait.

For me, I chose what I want to be based off what I like. I always play Medic in shooters that offer them, and I like big guys and big guns, so I know I want to try Heavy Medic.

I always play games that either require some stealth or were stealth is an option...or just the normal 'working behind the scenes' sort of gameplay.

That and I just don't like being in the lime light so im stickin to my choice of playing as an op.

and u need an all-of-the-above option.

They dont. Mostly wishful thinking I would assume.

On topic though I cant wait for to use Smart, I do love customization, but parkour more.

Personally I'll be a Light Soldier or whatever the combat class is called, because I like to get to placed people might not notice me, giving me a chance to shoot first, and I honestly enjoy handguns more than big guns
