Warhead was an awesome game...but was wayyyyy too short.

singeplayer was action oriented like Crysis 2 but was much shorter (it is way more fun than Crysis 1 though)

I have Wars, but never really tried it.

Anyone in the UK interested in Crysis/Warhead, you can get Crysis maximum edition from Gamestation for £7.99 (£9.99 from game).

Love Crysis/Warhead to bits (Crysis 2 not so much), i still play Wars on the odd occasion when i don't fancy COD, plus gotta love the mods for Crysis etc (Love me some Gears of Crysis :D).

Yep, they like C2 somewhat, but then go to Warhead and find out what a REAL PC GAME is.

I never played Warhead, only Crysis 1 SP. But I hear it was just as good, maybe just slightly more linear.

It's better in some ways, and not as good in others, but ultimately it's freakin' amazing.

It's very short and mostly linear (not corridor linear like C2, but less expansive than Crysis), however the graphics are even crisper than Crysis and it's better optimized, runs smoother on max settings, guns/objects are more detailed, and Psycho is an awesome protagonist. The point being, definitely play Warhead. It's -still- the best looking PC game out there for my money.

How can you say Warhead is a "REAL PC GAME" if youve never played it?

He's just like the other trolls here who trash Crysis 2 without having played it. Didn't you hear? It's cool to be a hater....

There is a small line between hater and critic and some people cross it...
(but the essence of all the critics is the same: dissapointment because everybody is comparing it to Crysis 1 and expected a big "update". After I bought Warhead I can understand that. C2 feels like a downgrade sometimes allthough its still a pritty amazing game for its own).

Well I am both a fan and a disapointed consumer over Crytek and Crysis 2 - Crysis 1 was the BOMB!, hands down it rocked. Crysis Warhead came out and it was the answer to the void Crytek left the enthusiast market in wanting more. So we got Crysis Warhead - damn fine game, I LOVE the old style game play with the configurable options - but it was a PC game, it was built for PC gaming, and consoles were not even a drip running down Crytek's leg yet so it was as good as any FPS gets IMO. Then with such success, Crytek drops this Crysis 2 on us, yeah all the reason if you do not know Crysis Warhead to go get it and play it. Visually it is far ahead of Crysis 2 IMO, game play and configurability hands down kills Crysis 2. Crysis 2 was good for what it was, it was NOT Crysis 1 nor was it the caliber of Crysis Warhead, it was not built like or resembled those games.

The way I look at it is like what Ford did to the Mustang. They came out with a muscle car that rocked (PC game) when it was introduced, the next generation was even better (PC game again w/more engine power and options), then they started making them more like the economy/family cars (Oh lets focus on the larger Console group) and totally hosed what the Mustang stood for - Well there you have Crysis, Crysis Warhead - then the econo family car Crysis 2 makes its debut.

I ended up having to buy a second copy of Warhead because I wipe/reload my OS all the time and it had some damn CSS crap that only allowed X amount of activations, no way to deauthorize the machine before I wiped/reloaded, so I was not able to play it. I bought a new one, did it for a while and hit my max allowed installs again - so yeah, I went and got the crack for it because I was sick of the CSS crap when I legitimately purchased it and only installed it on one machine ever - many times, but same hardware. The campaign I have played several dozen times all the way through and love it - the big daddy at the end was fun to kill, actually I loved the air strip from start to finish, best part of that game IMO aside from the train ride. I would like to play WARS but I think without a "legit" key I suppose that is out of the question?

It's not an insult as much as the term for when someone likes something that the heard of sheep they are following doesn't.

Dunces can coin any term they want. I love how they say theyre not going to support CryTek anymore, yet they go out and buy Warhead (those who didnt have it already). Strong logic :D

The short answer is YES. Crysis wars alone is worth it, lots and lots of fun. Although last time i played i was disappointed by the lack of up and running servers with people actually playing. Plus it is modifiable. Just make sure you have a rig capable of running it. It's not as demanding as Crysis was, but you still need a good system to run it on DX10 in 64bit mode. I was able to play it with eye candy maxed out at 1680x1050 with a QX6700 and single gtx285. I averaged a minimum of 25 FPS with a max of 58-62 FPS.

Crysis Wars will actually only work on DirectX 9 mode, beacause all the DirectX 10 servers are gone.

Didn't they give you Wars with Warhead? Anyway, most of the servers are cracked anyways I think. And if they didn't give you Wars, you should hit EA up for a free key.

What i've found is as the game it not to popular even on the non punkbuster servers (dam you crytek for stopping PB support on it!) there isn't really any cheats, shame support was dropped for it as i still think to this day it had great potential.

Well, some of the more knowledgeable server admins and programmers finally said hell with Crytek, and started making their own anticheat. I think its called SSM and there are also two more to boot. They were mostly directed at stopping LongPoke as he had the worse cheats. Once they stopped his massive cheat, their anticheat pretty much killed off all other cheats as well. Its rare to see anyone but a server admin cheat these days. i.e. Only the admins can bypass the program to cheat.

Its been at least two years since they came out with those. I don't know why Crytek didn't just copy them. Probably easy to adjust to C2.
