Large Multiplayer maps - 32 players (ie, Mesa and Tarmac)

Post » Sun May 08, 2011 9:19 am

I love Crysis: Wars. It's easily the best multiplayer FPS I've ever played. However, I only play Mesa and Tarmac.

From what I can tell, Crysis 2 for PC is basically crippled/limited by consoles. I'm all for Crytek trying to fatten their pockets and grabbing some console cash, but not if it comes at the expense of PC gameplay.

Is Crytek planning on releasing a separate (non-crippled) MP version of the game, like Crysis 2:Wars? Will there ever be support for massive Mesa-esque maps (with vehicles) in Crysis 2?

I wouldn't hold my breath. I think this is just a quick rip off by Crytek for money before they flee for Argentina.

Perphaps after the SDK is released on summer [?]

i believe EA wants to make money with a DLC for pc and consoles, and after that they might release the SDK

the other theory is that crytek wants to release a standalone crysis 2 multiplayer-only expansion, this would be crysis 2 wars, with huge maps and lot of players, vehicles, etc

well if they make some worthwhile DLCs, I have no problem paying for that...........although 32 player crash site would be a cluster fck

I hope that the Sandbox 3 editor is made available for the game. Until confirmation, everything (according to them) is speculation.

Bigger maps and more interesting mods DLC wouldn't hurt anyone.

i hate the fact that consoles have ruined the PC gamers experience... ever since game devs began to use multiple platforms allmost all games have had small maps and bad aim... i mean if i move my mouse it "jump" between pixels... so lame...

Although true, most Big spender corporations just tapped into the console industry with PC games, until they realize that PC is 100% different then a console without any limitations on hardware were always going to suffer. This is why a majority of PC players are placing their faith in the DICE promise of a non nerfed Battlefield 3

cryengine's netcode is designed for consoles and p2p traffic... it cannot handle large number of players.

afaik
