hi, i bought a LCD widescreen monitor, Acer P206HV, especially to play Crysis 2 cause i still had an old CRT monitor. But its not working... the game just wont load, there a black screen for 2 sec and the application close when i check in the task manager. i reinstalled the old monitor to troubleshoot and its working, i tried other games with the LCD monitor and its work. Pretty ironic situation hey?

directx is up to date, my graphic card too, i reinstalled the game, cleaned the registry, i googled my problem, i use the patch 1.1, i match all the requirements, i use w7

Hmm, try playing with your resolution?

what resolution did you use with the CRT monitor?
connect your CRT and set the game on 1024x768. switch back and it should work

wow i would never thought about this... i changed it to 1280x1024 when i installed it with my CRT. lost 5h of troubleshooting! sigh...but thanks revega!

admins should put this fix in the troubleshooting threads in my opinion. its not hard but not evident too to fix.

What's the refresh rate of your CRT? If it's 100Hz or more I would keep it and get return that LCD ASAP.

CRTs are vastly superior to LCDs. Google it.
