After seeing the ratio of Attacking Teams Winning Against the Defense, I want to encourage others to start playing in the Freeplay Mode as the Offensive team to start changing the balance of the Stats. I personally am not attached to any side, but I want to prove the defenders ALWAYS/USUALLY win idea wrong. AND the only way to make that happen is for you, my fellow BRINK ENTHUSIASTS is to start selecting maps that will have your side ATTACK :gun: and WIN IT :trophy: !!! Yes, you also need to win the match. So instead of flip flopping between defense and offense, just stick to offense until those stats change. ARE YOU WITH ME, BROTHERS!!!!!!!!

why?

Ummmm, my reasoning wasn't clear? Basically, if people keep playing the defensive side, they will never win the battle of the ark, because the defensive position is what is keeping someone from dominating the BATTLE. If people win more often as the offensive and play it more often, that side will begin to change the current map. So, what part of my explanation was unclear?

Attacking is almost always more fun. I don't understand why people don't like to push forward and claim new objectives. Silly.

your assuming this game holds some kind of weight to your characters action. Unless their is some magic map showing how much the security controls or vice-verse that I'm missing? Even then it doesn't effect the game, We'll play the same missions no matter what.

SO I'm really asking why choose a side when the only thing that will change is some random stat on the stat site no one really take seriously anyway?

@ARrowslayer Playing the game? Commenting? Attacking? Reading my Post? Argh... so ambiguous.
@The Rooster Personal satisfaction, sense of accomplishment and achieving something GREAT and Monumental (putting a lot on it for the heck of it). Badge of knowing your battles had an influence on the future of the ark. Advancement of Attacking Tactics. It doesnt affect ingame activities, but out of game, it is something to see. I mean, that is the point of the stat site right? Also, I take it VERY SERIOUSLY. :celebration:

I did read your comments but I am confused as to how maps will change

As the affirming side the burden of proof is on you not me. So prove to me the maps/game changes depending on what team we play. Otherwise my argument of "Why?" is all that needs to be said. and as said by Arrow slayer this thread is "A Waste of Time"

On this site, you can see the percentage of wins by the defenders or the attackers. SOOOOO, if teams win while attacking more often, the numbers will change. Also, the GSTAFF Moderator said that only Freeplay counts towards this statistics, which I can reference if necessary. Does this fulfill the necessary burden of proof?

The game is heavily biased towards the defense, which explains the stats. The fact that the Resistance is currently, if only slightly, "winning" Reactor strikes me as bizarre though. That map is an Offense slaughterhouse.

People are content with just playing CC and Shipyard as Resistance, since both maps practically defend themselves. Me and the boys play a bunch of games on those maps specifically as Security, and in a number of them...steamrolled the other team because we knew what they were going to do. Problem I see is a majority of people play PVP matches the same way they do against Bots. But a Human player is going to adapt and change their tactics when they see the initial one isn't working. Or at least the Brink players worth their salt do. I personally prefer attacking for the same reasons stated above, it's more fun. And it's especially enjoyable when you beat a group of camping n00bs back into the the spawn in CC. That's how you REALLY know you're on top of your game.

Furthermore, only troll I see in this thread is you, Rooster. Work on those comprehensive skills there, buddy-boy. You asked for Iramaj for proof, he gave it to you. Please continue, my good sir..

I like the clarification. At least bots don't obsessively rush the same spot over and over for "revenge." Can't say the same about a good deal of human players :D

Agreed wholeheartedly on the euphoria of turning the tides on CC as Security. I have to admit I haven't gone up against a particularly dedicated group of spawncampers, but simply winning as the Offense in that map is rather fantastic, considering the factors against you.

As an operative mainly player, I don't enjoy playing defense much. I like to break the defense and help the team rush forward, so I usually vote for attacking maps. The only problem I have is since I play pub games, I end up playing engineer so I can move the bot or fix the crane. I had to create an OP/ENG character because of this issue. I don't like Medic or Soldier so I only use them for the basic objective.

Some of the maps do seem impossible to Attack.

At the same time, you're going to need an unbalanced team stacked in the attackers favour to stand a chance, if there's an even amount of players then there's an even amount of bots... which means you're stuck when it comes to making your way to the primary objective and trying desperately to hold off until someone gets there only to find no one is Operative. Okay, so that's a bad example because I'll happily switch to Operative but I hate switching to Engineer because at level 20 you really need some of the extra abilities and I just dont have any.

From what I've seen of the human effort, I would blame the extreme lack of class switching as the reason for an Attackers loss 9 times out of 10. Sometimes you just need an engineer. I'm guilty my self, I switch Op/Soldier all the time but as mentioned before, am reluctant to switch to engineer until the last few minutes of the match. This is why you need a good bunch of people to play with so you can fufill a role in each player. This is the first game I might consider playing in a clan with, so long as they're not all super serious.

I am so happy. I was really worried (not really) that I was speaking gibberish. But yeah, @Super sorry that u ended up doing resistance on reactor :whistling:
But yeah, the changing classes can be a big part of things. Also, the bots are not an issue in some of the competitive and stopwatch modes.

On reactor toonight, 3 operatives 1 medic and1 soldier? I assume 1 soldier because no one opened the middle passage for the first half of the match. When I realized no one was going to do it, I went and opened it. It provided a good middle route, but too little too late and it seems I was the only one aware of it. I should have spoke up, but the wife was sleep, so sadly, I lost a match on the ATTACKing side.

On the flip side, I did win like 4 others on the attacking side today. So overall, improvement. I did end up playing some defensive maps and I felt kinda bad about winning, but hey, I am not going to lose on purpose.

@Iramaj I have never lagged so hard in a game that small in my life. :sadvaultboy:

I would see you guys in the spawn, hold square instantly, and be dragged all the way up both flights of stairs to that lobby before I finally got the buff out. And every couple minutes, for about 20 seconds everybody would freeze, including me, but keep running on the spot... then it would unfreeze and I'd be somewhere totally different facing another direction (cause I was hammering buttons trying to get [censored] to happen), then it would freeze/unfreeze a couple more times... usually ended up with me being dead. Not to mention I was getting insta-killed without taking any damage on my screen. :celebration: World's worst connection! CHAMPION!

It was still fun though, I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would! I did actually remember posting that not long before hopping on, I was like "O IRONY, U SO FUNNY". I think I will vote attacking maps more often, I've gotten into the habit the past couple days.
