So annoyed with all these advertisemants!

Post » Thu Mar 31, 2011 8:31 am

I'm starting to get annoyed with all these advertisemants. I have to watch an add to watch a youtube video, then I go on Fallout nexus and have to watch another stupid add just to download a mod. Then on playlist.com a site I use for music I have to listen to a stupid advertisemant just to hear a song. Anybody else getting annoyed with all these adds?

I''m sure there some sort of reason which involves making money with all these adds but still I'm so sick of advertisemant everywhere I go on the internet everywhere I drive every T.V. show I watch! Even in the restroom there's advertising!

If I have to watch an ad, instead of paying a fee. I will gladly do so.

AdblockPlus makes life in the interwebz so much more bearable. Goodbye to youtube ads too. :)

If I run into that problem on the internet, I just turn down the volume, open another tab, and find something else for the 30 seconds of ad, then I don't have to see it or hear it, and yet, it still did its thing. :P

I close most tabs if an advert starts playing, and mute those that play before videos. The more intrusive they become, the harder I ignore them. Seems pretty counter-productive to me as a marketing strategy.

Indeed. Unfortunately, they have not completely vanished yet. :P

Considering the alternatiive is to pay, I suffer through them. Don't see much of them really, in any case. I just tune out to them.

It is a bit odd to have to sit through a 30 second advert to download something that takes only 3 seconds.

The ads that really annoy me are the ones that pop up in videos despite me having Adblock activated. It doesn't happen most of the time, but on certain video players, such as Joystiq's, they somehow bypass it. And it just so happens that their ads are the really, really annoying kind that bring you to their page when you click the exit button on the ad.

But otherwise, Adblock Plus is a godsend. I make sure to unblock it on websites that I want to support though, after all I am taking away potential revenue by blocking their ads.

This. Ads? In my internet? It's less likely than you think. ;) I didn't even know YouTube was doing ads on their videos now.
