Connection issues? POST HERE!

Post » Tue Dec 14, 2010 10:51 pm

I am getting disconnected almost every game. I will be able to play few games for more than 15 mins if I'm lucky though.
This is a SERIOUS issue, CRYTEK, DX11 patch is good, but all those bugs are just going to ruin a "DX11" game eventually. So, why bother about DX11 while those bugs still exist?

I'm with the pre-order version of Crysis 2 since the launch day, but, until now, I CAN'T play multiplayer!!! After 2 or 3 minutes playing I always get the message "the connection to your opponent has been lost"! I have an internet of 15MBps and I'm NOT using wireless, so... when crytek will solve this problem? I'm really, really disapointed with all of this. Here in Brazil is very common the "pirate" version, but I wanted to support the developers and that's the treatment I receive. Guess I'll think better next time.

I have this problem too but only when I join servers out of my country. Damn, in the beta there was this bug and I didn't have it once but now every time I join a non-italian server I get kicked every 2-3 minutes!!!

The fact that you get dropped playing on servers outside your country supports a theory of mine. I think that this game's bandwidth variance settings are too tight. In other words, the game is configured to function with little tolerance for bandwidth/ping swings. Just using random number for an example such as, if the client's internet connection experiences a 300k+ fluctuation, the connection will drop.

I have to use a line-of-sight wireless broadband service that terminates into ethernet at the antenna and runs into my house. To say the least, its not the most stable service but I have no other option. The point here is that there are times my bandwidth fluctuates at high traffic times on the local network and when I would play Black Ops and it fluctuated enough (it had to be a lot), my connection would get dropped.

Its' made me wonder if that is the problem with this game. The main problem being is that the game is configured with too tight of a bandwidth variance. Even though you have good broadband service, if somebody else on your LAN starts downloading something etc, it could cause enough of a fluctuation that triggers the disconnect.

It's the only theory that makes sense to me. I've tried every possible fix including but not limited to bypassing my router and reinstalling the game. So far nothing has worked and I've given up even trying to play. It's been three weeks and still no fix?
