Utter failure.

I don't care if there have been other threads that have said how bad Crysis 2 on the PC is - I don't constantly monitor the forums to see what's what or who is thinking what.

No.

All I want to do is in this post vent that Crysis 2 is the biggest piece of c**p that I've ever played.

I never played Crysis 1 - so I can't make any reference to it.

But Crysis 2 is the most linear, most contrived and boring game I've ever tried to play.

Please. If this is the best you can do - save it for the consoles.

So... You're saying the NYC collectibles didn't make up for it?

I had another stab at this tonight - and still the gameplay was utterly, utterly un-engaging.

Afterwards, I fired up Microsoft Excel, created a few columns of numbers, summed the totals and created pie-chart with the results. That was far more fun than Crysis 2.

I'm done now.

Just file this with the rest of the gripes....

LOL!

I love how you havent played Crysis 1 and say Crysis 2 is **** :)

most people here are C1 die-hards... This just shows that a PC gamer like you who hasnt played Crysis 1 thinks C2 is also crap - which i would agree with you to a certain extent about.

anyhow - very very liniear - try playing Crysis 1 - maby that will tickle your sweet spot mate...

anyhow - welcome aboard the Dissapointment Ship

And then WHAT THE F*? If he didn't play C1 but still feels in 2011 this is below the SO game entertainment line WAY BELOW...? He can't say nothing because he didn't play C1? Of what the hell did you wanna say with that rubbish? You have to have a ferrari before you say a suzuki is a crap car?

Linear game, yes I still liked the feeling though, played it through once. The places I liked, the story was cool, even though seems we saved NY hundred of times now since Jesus. :]

so either you didnt play the game long enough to come to the part that the story actually began, or you played far through the game and wasted your precious time playing it (while you say it's an utter failure)
while you could have been having fun with your hobby, creating pie charts.

btw: it may be an utter failure to u but cryengine still managed to have you buy it which means you got owned? :)

Maybe you should keep childish comments like that to yourself, if those responsible for the game ever said anything like that their credibility would go down the pan in an instant. Why should you be any different!

Hmm that's too bad. I thought single player was fun enough. Sure there were tiny maps and the "tactics" were unimaginative (and unnecessary). But overall I had fun and thought the story and locations were pretty cool. The nanosuite point bug was really frustrating though.

Now they need to fix the damn multiplayer.

cause when i don't like a game i save others the trouble of reading how much i don't like it, i don't trouble myself going to the forum of a game that tried hard to make people happy.. and talk like the game is crap.
try to make it yourself and then talk.
good enough?
so who's credibility is down, his or mine?

To make claims like this about Crysis 2, clearly this OP has never played Call of Duty or Bad Company 2.

Crysis 2 is more linear than the following FPS games:

Stalker
Crysis

Crysis 2 is less linear than the following FPS games:

Battlefield Bad Company 2
Any Half Life
Any Call of Duty
Any Halo
Any Killzone

If you think Crysis 2 is linear compared to other games in it's genre, then obviously you don't know the genre. If it is any consolation, you are not alone. As far as I can tell 50% of the people on this site have the same problem determining the difference between an FPS and an open-world game.

Truly says it all right there. The SP just fails left and right. I just hope the MP can be fixed, cheating minimized and and dx11 w/ sandbox 3, will helps matters.
