Crytek Please Address Issues

Post » Thu Dec 30, 2010 8:55 pm

Please announce that you know of the issue's that some people are crashing to desktop, both in SP and MP,
worse in MP because after crash you lose any EXP you obtained between logins to servers. (only work around is to leave match between rounds and come back in, and hope dont crash)

Game crashes in MP as soon as I make a connection to to the server on start of match (when it should go to weapons selections)

if it makes it passed that point, it wont crash till new round.

System specs.

AMD X2 3.0 ghz dual core
Asus Mobo
Asus 250GTS vid card
1 TB WD HD
4 gigs Corsiar DDR3 1066
Nvidia drivers up to date
Directx 9.0c up to date
Sound drivers up to date
Win XP sp3 with all hotfixes up to date
wired connection direct to DSL (no router)

Crashes about every 2 to 3 games, sometimes 4, but I sure cannot go more then 4 without crashing.
Only error message is "Crysis 2 has stop responding and needs to shut down, click here to send error report"
Event log shows error message 1000, and 1001 for both Crysis2.exe and dx9.dll.

Also there is no Log.txt file being generated into Save docs, I seen this file existed on my friends PC, but not on mine. If it was there I would look in it and see what kind of errors it stated in there.

Crytek Devs please patch this ASAP, there are more then a handfull of players being frustrated with this issue.

Thanks for the help, BUT
clearly on the Game CD holder in print it says
"System Requirements" and the first thing stated is OS it says "Windows XP (SP3)"

if it wont play on XP then why the frick is on the BOX?

and I seen others complaining of the exact same Crash even using win 7. So I dont think the crash is
related to OS, nor is it related to AMD or Intel or Nvidia.

ive seen others only complain about the XP SP3 thing...
I'm currently running AMD Phenom II X4 w/Gigabyte 770T-UD3 mobo and 6870 GPU...
(check my profile for full spec list and picture)

i am using Windows 7 and the game has only frozen on me twice in total - never crashed just froze :s

I know this isnt much help but if possible update the out-dates by now XP...
I really don't know why else would the game crash - I'm assuming Crysis and Crysis: Warhead work fine?

All other games work just fine. And just stop insulting win XP, its on the box that the game will play on XP.
and YES others have complained of same crash using win 7.

Please dont offer useless advise, then top it off with "well mine works fine".
Just because your not having issues doesnt mean others wont either, even if they have the exact same system build as you. Problems can always come about, and saying "Update your OS" is just silly, when clearly on the box it says it will play on XP. Its a flaw in the program codeing, and needs to be fixed. Its not my system, or anyone elses system that is the problem, its simply the game itself and NEEDS to be patched.

Who is raging? Im not.

But to suggest that "Upgrade to win 7 will resolve the issue, because he can run it in win 7" is just iddiatic.
And Upgrading the OS does not resolve the issue for others that are still crashing. This is Info that is USELESS and
no help at all to me, or anyone else with the this crashing Issue. And also why would I need to spend the money to
buy windows 7, when I already own XP, and the game should run in XP?

If it says on the box win XP, then it should run with win xp with no crashes, or they need to fix it, bottem line.

I can confirm that crysis 2 works just fine on windows xp, and as a matter of fact on budget builds, performs better since more memory is available due to the OS not consuming so much ram.
