Can I get an opinion please...

I grew up as a PC gamer but couldn't afford to keep updating my PC. I went to the darkside and got a xbox then ps but I finally built my PC and am selling my ps3 to get the EVGA GTX 560. I already have Crysis 2 on Ps3 but will be returning it because of the many problems as well as not having the consol.. My question is should I pick up the PC version or does it have as many problems? If so should I wait till the final patches? Also If so would it be smart to pick up Crysis Warhead in the mean time seeing as it is pretty cheap and the game still looks amazing. (sad i couldn't afford it when it came out back in the day) Thanks guys!

Well, I can bet that the PC version is as buggy as the console ones. :P

If you are in doubt about buying eighter C1 or C2, I suggest you to stick with C1. C2 is in a sadly buggy state, and I guess that not all the promisses that were made will be fulfilled (DX11, hacker ban, etc)

Cheers and good luck

Thanks bud. That is what I figured by seeing the million pages of patch info. Just like the consoles.. Ugh I'm so happy to get back to the PC but I sure hope that in the months to come they fix everything! I'll definitely be getting C1 then and waiting a couple months to play C2. Game is fun just way to buggy to actually have fun playing. Is it true that cry engine 3 doesn't take as much GPU/CPU memory as the Cry engine 2? Not that I'm worried but If I can get C1 running smooth on very high then Ill know what to expect when I install C2.

I would recommend that anyone thinking about purchasing Crysis 2 should wait until Crytek has addressed the many flaws that currently exist. I am not very optimistic that they will. Based on my experience, Crytek has had a miserable patch history with all of their previous titles. I see no indication of them discontinuing that trend.

I wish i checked these forums before i bought Crysis 2 yesterday. Too many annoying issues are killing the fun of this game.

Get portal 2, the game sounds to be very nice and with that tongue-in-cheek humor proper to Valve half-life universe

Well the cryengine 3 isn't pushed to it's limits in crysis 2,
where with cryengine 2-->Crysis and warhead , they did push it.

So for now it doesn't require as much "power" as the previous games.

But i bet if some developer creates a game with cryengine 3 ,
and getting the best out of it.
Then it will probably be more demanding then the cryengine 2

The cryengine 3 itself must be more demanding then cryengine 2 ,because of the new features
But crysis 2 isn't using the full potential of cryengine 3.

Maybe if they should unlock the console so the community could do some tweaking.
(More commands where available in the leaked beta)

Well....as someone said before, the pc version is as buggy as the console version. Really almost no difference afaik.

But aside from DX11, the pc version can be tweaked with the autoexec.cfg-file and with this you can achieve graphical wonders! Much better than the console. So if you are having a graphic-fetish, buy and tweak the pc version xD
