We are still 90% unhappy with the quality of this BETA

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 3:49 am

The PC discussions of the C2 forums are 90% about how things aren't working and the lack of features left and right. For F**K's sake, this game has been released for more than half a month now, and the game is still full of serious bugs such as lack of multi-GPU support. If you've played or have played this BETA then you know exactly what I'm talking about.

I stopped playing this about 2 weeks ago after anticipating it for 2 years, what a disappointment for the record. If Crytek decides to add Anti-Cheat that actually works, and patch the game to playable condition, then maybe I'll give it another try.

Are you pissed off with this BETA too?

Agreed, it's a poor console port. Most disappointing game of the year so far. The original Crysis was amazing, and was far superior graphically, and gameplay. Crysis 2 is just another generic, linear shooter which has taken far too many ideas from COD. Very disappointing.

What a deceptive use of the word Beta. Also how are 90% of people "unhappy", that's just biased.

I like Crysis 2, I do not hate it 1 bit...

What I am the unhappy about, though:

CryTek was not straightforward with their own PC community, after it says on their own website that their roots are in PC gaming, and their fanbase is the most important thing to them.

If they had been honest and said, "Okay guys, Crysis 2 is not as big and open as Crysis 1, and the controls and graphics are a bit softened up to optimize for consoles," would they have sold less? Probably. They didn't tell us ANYTHING, because they knew it could affect their sales. Also explains why they only put that "demo" on Xbox360 at first, and only released it on PC and PS3 when the game was close to launch.

Excuse me, I meant 90% of the C2 PC forums. But to me the game does feel like a BETA with the amount of bugs in it.

I am 50% sure that 90% of what you're talking about is BS, the other 50% is 80% sure. %%%%%%%%%. I haven't had anymore issue other than the occasional aimbotter in MP.. that happens in any game without VAC (even happens in VAC games anyway). You guys realize the lack of VAC is an EA issue right, I've found posts from 2006 complaining about EA/Gamespy awfulness

This is less of a game than Crysis 1. We have the right to bich at Crytek after paying $60 for a subpar, incomplete and defective product.

Btw. Where are the multiplayer vehicles and sandbox maps?

Obviously only people with buggy copies complain. All the people who have perfectly working games wouldn't say anything here

I have a sneaking suspicion that the dx11 patch will be their answer to many of the PC crowd's complaints...more than likely, it was EA's urging that led them to consoles and the consolization of the game...

Now I dont think Crytek is about to radically restructure the whole game, but I would bet that the PC's graphical concerns will be more than addressed.

EA probably wanted the game out ASAP on all platforms, And so Crytek gave us what they had, with plans to bring the PC version up to its rightful place as the king of platforms via a patch later on, thus placating their publisher, who is likely more so to blame for any problems cuz they were the ones rushing the game out the door so they could make their money, cuz they are a business through and through--they dont give a **** about the games, just money. and consoles are where the money's at. And they got Crytek on board, and for the sake of being able to keep their studio going, they played by EA's rules, leading to the let down that is the game we own, with plans to bring it up to snuff when it was REALLY ready...

In short, I'd say EA is more likely the culprit for the problems that plague Crysis 2, cuz they are probably money grubbing pricks.

The game is far from a beta. But I agree that bug fixes need to be implemented ASAP!

How true. I understand the early copies are particularly buggy. Its the opposite in the music industry, where the later copies have problems (because the artist gets tired)!

This is most likely 100% true. Crytek probably isn't saying anything because they don't want to risk ruining their partnership with EA.

I thought the leaked version was on Bittorrent and other illegal sites, but i bought it by Amazon...

OK, it′s not so bad, but there are many little problems...

1 or 2 month of developement wouldn′t harm by the PC-version

That joke would work, except from what I hear the leaked beta HAD a 64 bit .exe and dx11, albeit broken, as well as the sandbox.

I'm half happy, half not. Ok maybe 2/3 happy. What I really hate in this game is the strange hit reg. You place several rounds onto a guys torso, maybe one or two on the head, then that person spins around and sprays to the heavens, suddenly one hit and you're dead. This makes me rage like no other game has made me rage before it.

And the still alarming amount of cheaters out there. Seen at least 3 with aim assist last night alone.

I couldnt be bothered with graphics (which look nice for how dated they are) and map size (although I would love some bigger maps with higher player limit), because I really do enjoy the game as it stands, apart from those details that make me rage then play terrible.

OP is wrong. you have to apply the 80/20 rule. eg. 80% on this thread will complain about the game while 20% will complain about the people complaining about the game. or 80% dont quite like teh game and 20% do when it should be the other way around.

80/20 golden rule people. shows you stuff
