I like Crysis 2, I do not hate it 1 bit...
What I am the unhappy about, though:
CryTek was not straightforward with their own PC community, after it says on their own website that their roots are in PC gaming, and their fanbase is the most important thing to them.
If they had been honest and said, "Okay guys, Crysis 2 is not as big and open as Crysis 1, and the controls and graphics are a bit softened up to optimize for consoles," would they have sold less? Probably. They didn't tell us ANYTHING, because they knew it could affect their sales. Also explains why they only put that "demo" on Xbox360 at first, and only released it on PC and PS3 when the game was close to launch.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the dx11 patch will be their answer to many of the PC crowd's complaints...more than likely, it was EA's urging that led them to consoles and the consolization of the game...
Now I dont think Crytek is about to radically restructure the whole game, but I would bet that the PC's graphical concerns will be more than addressed.
EA probably wanted the game out ASAP on all platforms, And so Crytek gave us what they had, with plans to bring the PC version up to its rightful place as the king of platforms via a patch later on, thus placating their publisher, who is likely more so to blame for any problems cuz they were the ones rushing the game out the door so they could make their money, cuz they are a business through and through--they dont give a **** about the games, just money. and consoles are where the money's at. And they got Crytek on board, and for the sake of being able to keep their studio going, they played by EA's rules, leading to the let down that is the game we own, with plans to bring it up to snuff when it was REALLY ready...
In short, I'd say EA is more likely the culprit for the problems that plague Crysis 2, cuz they are probably money grubbing pricks.
