I love how these snide people from other countries judge all Americans the same. So typical. Can you say that your country is perfect? I bet you can't.

MINE IS! SOMALIA 4 LIFE! WE LAUGH AT YOU!

Dude, are you one of those Somalian pirates who love to takeover ships?))
Did you just boarded some ship that was full of Crysis 2 copies and personal computers?)) I mean, how come you can play Crysis 2 when you have only ak 47 and living by real piracy?))

Image

just joking, relax, but im really curious how you can play Crysis 2 there...

US residents took exclusive rights to call themselves Americans, so the rest of americans are not americans, but are Canadians and Mexicans, and most of US people think that Mexicans is official name of everyone who live in south America))

So most of Americans and non Americans because the only Americans are residents of U.S.A. and no one else, and if someone would not agree with that, that someone may wake up one day under god blessed American "Rain of democracy" (bombing for short) ))

Oh yeah and rest of world for Americans looks like this

^_^

Even in Crysis 2, god damn Aliens know that Americans so cool, so their invasion must start from coolest American city - New York, because if they can conquest NY, then can conquest world)) And surely, only American hero can stop them))
Why you think Crysis 2 script if so pathetic? Because Crysis 2 created mostly for stupid US residents in age group 13-23 year, and script of Crysis 2 was written by cheap and pathetic Richard Morgan, which writing skill only could be accepted by U.S. kidos and teens with no taste.

You guys bash everyone from the US like everything our government does is because of us. Everyone I've ever met here despises our government. We don't all condone their actions. Why is it my fault corrupt politicians decide to invade other countries? Is it because of my geographical location? Stop grouping us all in with the idiot OP. "Typical American"? How about this; Everyone in the UK are arrogant self-righteous condescending pricks with disgusting teeth. Is that fair? None of you can possibly know all 307 million of us. So stop acting like you do and generalizing us all. You want to hate what the US does? Hate our government and the major corporations. Its their doing, not mine. I'm a victim too. Don't attack the rest of us as if we're ALL guilty.

Why insult my intelligence? You really believe me and all other people from US think South America is Mexico?
This is exactly what I'm talking about. You guys say we're the bullies but look at you. By the way, I may be from US, but that doesn't mean I love the script and setting of Crysis 2. In fact, I thought it was the worst choice possible. In some urban environment, I would have much preferred the setting to be downtown Hong Kong. Or better yet, back in the jungles of Lingshan. I find the script abhorrent also.

Government have nothing to do with lack of culture and moral, and presence of stupidity in most of U.S. residents.

But like i said before (many people usually don't pay attention to this part) MOST isn't mean EVERYONE, so if you arent one of these MOST idiots of your country, than be proud of yourself and learn idiots around you to be smarter, more cultural and moral, and dont take our words to your account if our words not about you))

But fact is fact - due of biggest number of idiots in biggest game market aka USA - games getting dumbed down, otherwise most of U.S.A. video games customers will not buy game that require more brain power than they have. So thanks to USA most of population, we have our smart Crysis dumbed down to level beyond stupidity.

How about when those words are aimed directly towards me? Like in the case of your previous response. Where's the "morality" in treating people like ****? Why do you even throw around the word "most"? You cant possibly know "most" of us to judge. Is all of that based on idiots in YouTube videos? TV shows and movies made here? You have such a narrow perspective of who we are, and yet you judge and feel perfectly justified with trashing us. I don't care if what you say isn't directed towards ME specifically. Seeing it is still offensive. You guys think your so much more enlightened, how about showing it by treating us like PEOPLE and keeping your offensive opinions to yourself. I could have a generalized opinion about Russia. I don't, and I certainly don't put people down because they're Russian. I see everyone as sentient individuals with minds, opinions, and feelings of their own that deserve respect for who they are not for where they live.

The reason for Crysis 2 being dumbed down is to make it more accessible to the console market. Not because we lack brainpower to play it. I hate what they did with Crysis 2. So does everyone I know that played the first. Console players are more casual. They like simplicity in their games. Simplicity is the reason why COD is so successful. It's also the reason why its so hated. Being from the US is not the reason that it took this direction. They were trying to put it in front of the largest audience possible, while having to make it work on dated console hardware. They should have made a new console exclusive franchise and left Crysis to PC. They didn't. That was their choice. Not the choice of "most" US residents

I still stand by the question... who buys Crysis for Multiplayer?

Seriously.... who does that? Have FPS fans become so dependant on MP that that is all that matters to them anymore? No wonder the genre is dying.

Who buys $60 games for Singleplayer? (yea I also question people who bought Dragon Age 2 for $60, but thats another topic...)

Who spends that much on an SP game? The target audience of Crysis 2... that's who. BUt I agree about Dragon Age 2.... my brother has it on 360.... and I've seen graphical issues that make my eyes bleed... like I thought he was in a frost tunnel so many bitmaps on walls didn't render!

But that said, gotta love how this became "interwebz tough guy" putting "the American" in his place.... You know what? Go shove off... all of you. This is about a game, not about nationalities, and if you get so butthurt and can only come up with "he's from America" and "America is evil" and whatever other propaganda you are being raised with, you need to go have your argument elsewhere... after all, that's what interwebz politics is about, not a video game.

My issue with Crytek and Crysis 2 is this.

Game gets leaked and is buggy - Crytek "it's not a finished product"
Game demo arrives and is also buggy - Crytek "it's not a finished product"
Game get's released and low and behold it's very buggy - Crytek "it's bigger, better and more stable".

It's shoddy business practice and extremely poor customer service.

This pissed me off too. also

"Piracy is a real concern. The PS3 has been cracked now as well and people are downloading PS3 games and 360 games are being downloaded so that's a threat to just the industry in general. For us specifically, it was a very traumatic experience because we're really excited about the game and the quality that we were able to get into it and what we were able to accomplish... We're at the end and we're really excited about where we're at and your game gets leaked. And it's not even that the final version of the game gets leaked, you know? People are like 'It's 40/45 days before launch, Crysis is leaked' but that build was already from the middle of January. With 250 people working on a project, thousands of bugs get fixed in a heartbeat. So that version is like a really ugly version that we don't want anyone to see... All this stuff starts going up in pieces and even if someone downloads it and plays it themselves they might make a bad decision based on the fact that there are so many bugs in it. 'Oh, there are so many bugs in the game I wanted to play. It's so buggy, I'm not gonna buy it now.'"

i should have pirated it... but i trusted Crytek. Never again...

i still don't believe people blame Crytek.

EA guys are laughing their asses off.

you know why? why would Crytek release a broken game? for them it doesn't make sense.

but EA? EA can push Crytek to release the game "on time" (read : at the launch date). if the thing backfires, who takes the blame? Crytek. who doesn't EA. who buys/starts another studio to develop a new game? EA. what happens when that game fails? the studio takes the blame and EA continues happily.

Crytek is the human shield of EA. don't blame crytek. pity crytek. blame EA.

Going back to price, I noticed something peculiar.

Crysis 2, published by EA. All versions sell for $60.
Dragon age 2, published by EA. All versions sell for $60.

Portal 2, by valve. PC version is $50, consoles are $60.

I thought maybe it was the distributor that was screwing us over with the $60 price tag, I guess not.

Rage at EA time?

Its obvious Cryteks goal was to impress the console market. I think they did do just that.
But then they thought, damn if it wasnt for those idiots who bought far-cry, crysis 1, crysis warhead we would not have made it though the years. So we better give them something as well.

Thus they released the pc version on the same date. Spreading themselves very thin.

They are boasting that one dev pc, can dev on 3 platforms at the same time. Perhaps they included all the bugs to prove that yes, if you have a bug on one system you have a bug on all systems. This should however sad it may sound, hold strong points at development studios looking to purchase and use the engine.

There must be big money in having an engine that eliminates the workload when releasing on 3 platforms.
