For those who love Crysis 2, and also you Crytek bashers

Good read.

To avoid the inevitability of trolling I won't waste my time here with a long drawling post trying to prove my point that the majority of Crysis 2 hater complaints right now are simply in vain and unjustified, so I'll keep it simple - being a lifelong PC and gamer enthusiast I have played everything out there in the market (including the first Crysis games) but I have to say, it's been SO long since I've been able to get hooked again and have this much fun playing a first person shooter, let alone any shooter - both in single-player and in multi-player.

I spend my fair share of time browsing forums but NEVER post on any because I know there is no end to an opinion or argument on the internet. However, I am appalled and staggered at the amount of hating going on in these forums, most of which I feel are just ignorant people following the nerd raging crowd, who have too much money, are too stupid and take the elaborate process of game development for granted. Yes, it went multi-platform, get over it. Yes, there are still plenty of bugs in the game, but that doesn't mean I will just start griping, moaning, get impatient and stop supporting Crytek as these aren't anything a patch can't fix in the future. Why do you think it's taking them so long to respond? For one, piracy is close to uncontrollable and is a huge deal to get around. Secondly, we as the PC community (and a HORRIBLE community I must say) aren't doing Crytek any favors with all the biching and disregarding of their efforts, instead pushing our luck, delaying and prolonging their need to make amendments for us...we are only getting what we deserve at the moment. Moving on, yes, the game also borrows ideas from other first person shooters, but it is NOT at all in my opinion a Call of Duty clone like the mass-brainwashed CoD community are claiming, and I personally find the excellent gameplay mechanics a refreshing breath of air when comparing to other shooters nowadays. It caters to so many different playstyles and is just a mesh of awesomeness and fun. Interesting saying...'steal from one person and it's plagiarism, steal from everyone and it's originality and innovation.' All in all, I **** love Crysis 2.

Good job, Crytek.

Yep, totally agree. I only complain about the non-existing banning and kicking options for cheaters. Today I found 3 [2 of them where perma cloak -MalyMocny and Shanack]. And it would be great if there were more servers in America with good connection [I kill enemies sometimes about 1 second after I start reloading; and in some kill replays even when I shoot some bullets before dying suppostly I die almost inmediately in the replay, while actually it was about 5 seconds], I mean, delayed actions, all the servers in Germany appear with 1000ms of ping, FR, UK, Swiss, etc. Only a few with less than 300ms of ping (mostly some non-official in America) and I'm saying that I have 10 Mbps download, 1.9 upload and 30ms to my nearest speedtest server. So I don't have **** 56Kbps internet by phone line. Just that. Not asking much.

These are the exact type of people I am referring to - ignorant, shallow, unconversant and blind to anything beneath the exterior.

Thanks, I'm flattered you think I'm talented enough to work for Crytek.

The multiplayer side of the game is dried up and dieing a pretty fast death and it's no ones fault but Cryteks. Complaints against Crytek? Valid. A biased interview with the game developer? Not so much.

Nice to see something positive for a change.

I too am amazed at the out pouring of inertia in these forums although if I remember back to Crysis 1, it was actually no different back then.

Crysis 2 is an amazing feat of engineering, to be able to provide that level of graphics across three platforms must have been a very tough nut to crack.

I also expect nothing less from the coming DX11 patch..

But..

I also feel the frustration felt by those unable to either play the game or chance to enjoy it. I just hope this is all sorted sooner rather than later..

I concur with the OP, a very well said post. It is absolutely horrible how far-gone the PC community has become.

Oh pleez, the game fails on so many levels. You can deny it all you want, but a spade is a spade.

The 360 and PS3 forums are just as nasty as the PC forums, why? Because the game is broken. Unlocks and perks resetting, hackers galore to ruin mp, not to mention that lag.,

How can you guys say with a straight face that the game so great when you can't play anything but the SP....

Talk about trying to justify your $60.00 purchase. YOU CAN"T THE GAME IS A** PERIOD!

Would agree if the multiplayer wasn't dead already. You can have your opinion but that in itself proves it is a badly designed game. Singleplayer wasn't that great either, I just kept noticing the sub-par graphics at points (in the tower on the last level look straight up at the roof, the graphics look PS2 quality).

I tried to convince myself that it was a good game, but when I play CoD BO, which has anti-cheat, has dedicated server controls and a ton of people playing I just see how bad Crysis 2 is. And I really, really didn't like BO when it was released.

I was actually hoping Crysis 2 might be picked up by competitive gaming ladders, but it was not even considered. They were proven right when people stopped playing mp 3 weeks later.

Thanks for the link. Yes it is a good read. As I highlighted in another post I understand it's just not profitable to make a PC hardware limits pushing game as your market is just too small. You get a smaller audience for far more work. I also feel players need to appreciate that as games get more complicated and immersive more bugs and glitches are to be expected esp on a new engine. While I appreciate many of the challenges faced by crytek, a few glaring points must be made.

- Any game that wishes to have it's multiplayer taken seriously needs some form of anti-hack. Crysis 2 practically shipped with none prolly cause it's catered to console gaming which encounters less hackers? Take a look at the xbox forum. Their main complaint is about boosters not actual hackers(aimbotting, speedhacking, infinite energy, noclip etc...) Hell I wish that was my main complaint
- you have to take into account crysis original fan base. All who would all be pc players. All who bought it and became fans not just for the stunning graphics but the extremely high level of environmental destructibility and interactivity. It was a major marketing and selling point. Crysis 2s environment destructibility and interactivity is hardly at the level of crysis 1. Disappointment from pc gamers for getting what is essentially a port of a console game is to be expected
- things like asking pc players to press start button reek of a crappy console to pc port.
- multiplayer which is so messed up on account of losing unlocks and ranks and having extra unneeded unlocks and custom classes not being saved limited edition codes and perks not working properly. Come on this is not exactly ground breaking stuff here. CoD, BF, MoH have all released such features without this many problems. Again another sign pc game was a rushed port of the console version.
- the point that crysis 2 runs smoothly on a 5yr old 8800GT: while I certainly acknowledge the great programming and optimization on crytek's part, it also shows how much performance room pc users were left with for the game
- they are NOW making a DX 11 patch. Wasn't it advertised that dx11 was a part of crysis 2? I think it's an indirect admission they shipped the pc version incomplete. They gave us a console game an are now adding on the pc features. Instead of removing from the pc version to scale on the console.
