Multiplayer is dead in Australia

Post » Thu Dec 30, 2010 11:32 pm

@ all of you who have provided their responses considering my OP thankyou. Too Hedgehog8 and others who cant read and didn't get the gist of my OP then I am sorry for your unintelligence.

To those that think Australia has no gaming community then you are wrong. CSS and BF2 both brilliant games, the former with at least 30 fully populated servers all the time.

I started multiplayer with about 10 populated crysis2 servers, and now there are none.

At those of you who think I am blind and dont know the difference between a hacker and a great player, perhaps you should check your intelligence and powers of deduction when you see a player cloaked all the time and spraying bullets everywhere. Or flying around the map for that matter. Or killing you with a pistol with one bullet to the chest.

I hope sincerely that this patch comes out soon and makes this a great multiplayer expereince, because ultimately this is an awesome multiplayer experience if they addressed the issues discussed (not just hackers but everything else too!)

Look at it this way.......everyone else is in the same boat as you, more or less. We all lost money on a bad investment.

Oh well, back to Portal 2!

Wish Australians would grow a brain when it comes to this issue. Look at where you live. Unless you are playing on a dedicated server thats based in Australia you are going to have lag. Stop trying to play on American/European servers and whining when you have awful ping.

Sorry but patch 1.3 is not going to add lightspeed internet to your house.

Unless a game has an Australian community im afraid you are out of luck whe it comes to a multiplayer experience.

This.

The location of Australia is horrible when it comes to playing online games with people around the world. EXPECT a bad connection. And considering the amount of people living in Australia, it's not a lot. And then taking into account the population of Australian gamers ONLY, and then Australian gamers with Crysis 2 ONLY, you can see that it's NOT ENOUGH to have a large community for constant multiplayer, UNLESS most of the Australian Crysis 2 gamers get together and make the effort.

Agree with our location, we are not trying to play other people across the world. We are just trying to play games here first. This is the whole point, Aussies are only going to get back on to this game if it gets fixed, and fixed properly, with patch 1.3.

It is Australias (and i suspect many other countries) only hope of being resurrected.

Speaking of resurrection wouldnt it be fitting for patch1.3 to be released tomorrow! (with Easter!)

WTF are you talking about you twit????? where the hell does the OP mention anything about bad ping/lag????? He IS talking about the Australian gaming community and how we have abandoned Crysis2 because of Crytek's lack of customer support in resolving the bug ridden POS Game they have released.

We already know we cant play shooters in the US and Europe (And if you are an example of the calibre of person playing, why the fuk would we want to?) as our distance hinders the game quality.

I believe that the OP was saying that Crysis2 is dead in Australia NOT because of lack of players due to our population, but because of the problems with Multiplayer and the hackers who have ruined this game and Crytek's inability to fix these problems.

So your troll input is not wanted, next time read the original post if you have no valid input please don't spout out your arrogant English superiority ****. No one want to hear your opinion on how you believe a group of people "should grow a brain"

Go f*ck off down the pub and have a warm beer, you twit!

Its hard to get an Australian game when every Australian server is empty.

I wish people would grow a brain when it comes to this issue. Read the OP. Unless you have poor eyesite or English isnt your best language you are going to easily understand what the OP is saying. Stop trying to read the first 3 words and whine when people point out all the things wrong with what you said.

Sorry but mashing the keyboard with your head isnt going to add validity to your post

Unless you were lucky enough to string a sentence together that made sence you are out of luck when it comes to posting on forums.

See what I did there??!

Dont be butt hurt by the truth. The game is dead in Australia because there isnt a much of an Australian community for it simple as that. Maybe you had some reading comprehension you could see how my post fits in to this thread.

I, for example, live in the UK. If this game has a very dwindling UK community it wouldnt impact my ability to play online because I can play with people from all over Europe quite easily. Australia on the otherhand doesnt have that. You should try to be less derpy when posting.

Yeah, its hard to find an Australian server, I mean, all of them are empty, and joining an international server will have lags which makes it unenjoyable. I just wish Crytek would fix all these multiplayer issues, I paid for this game primarily so I can play multiplayer and so far it hasn't been great.

Well I hate to break it to, as I said earlier in this thread the multiplayer is dieing a fast death in the US as well. Last night it was hard for me to find a server to get into. I didn't bother trying today.

So it's not just Australians. And that's a shame too, because I would have liked to play the multiplayer for another month or so at least.

Oh welps, little more than 2 weeks until Brink is out.

Really sad, I loved this game online. Even tried to add dozens upon dozens of friends in hopes of getting a server started since there are plenty of empty ones. None of them are even online tonight.

One 16 player server is full right now and the rest are empty, no point joining the empty ones because nobody joins them. I was thinking the game needed a patch this week or the MP would be in a position it would never recover from. Even though it's selling pretty well on Steam I really don't see it coming back to what it was. It was 8 full servers a week ago which isn't great but plenty enough to get a decent game fairly quickly and a specific mode you like.

C'est la vie

Well the game dies. Some people can not continue to sell miscellaneous crap (as DLC) for the money in the unfinished version of the game. And some will remain without work.
Your delusion called Crysis 2 is broke.

Crytek are a great company, but (like the original Crysis) they have killed the multiplayer. Like you said OP, it's pretty much dead for us Aussies. It's also probably only a matter of time until other countries follow a similar fate or have only a very miniscule community still playing. The fact is that not everyone visits forums and there have been far too many problems. Even the demo suffered many issues unfortunately. I remember a relative of mine wanting to actually try the demo, but was completely denied this opportunity. Why? Well, despite creating a new account on this site, he couldn't even log in through the game because of problems on Crytek's/Gamespy's end.

I remember seeing much rage about this error from other people on the forums and I expect that this alone turned off people from buying the full version. Even the way the demo ended and how that was handled had frustrated many. Despite it being over, advertisemants were still all over the place inviting people to join! Even Steam was guilty of this IIRC. Scant details were out there informing people of the demo ending and the poor potential customers had learned they wasted their time and bandwidth (over 1 GB) when they tried to participate.

To those that bought the game not even aware of the existence of the demo were greeted with many different problems yet again. Look at things such as unlocks not saving, CD-Key glitches stopping people from entering the multiplayer, Limited Edition codes not redeeming and so many other things. Like I said, not everyone visits these forums and usually the only real solutions were various 'workarounds' posted here. To your average joe/joette wanting to just quickly jump in and play had meant they were screwed. Being saddled with a laundry list of errors and no idea how to deal with them will merely just turn off from playing and telling other people how horrible their experience was (word of mouth). That's just common sense when you think about it. In the end, how these kinds of issues even existed in retail in the first place is...quite baffling itself.

It's a shame because despite my own grievances with the gameplay, I still think the game had fun aspects and the potential to be something quite popular.

I hope EA knows about this and starts firing people in Crytek.

dude EA cant do **** about staff at crytek they dont own them. EA is only a publisher

Oh really?
Then how do you explain a rushed game that is directly responable for the OP's issues? If EA did not own Crytek, then surely Crytek could have said, no wait the game is not ready.

But alas, one word and the game was shipped before being tested fully. If someone makes the calls for you, thats called owning. My boss owns me, from 8 - 5. Just like EA owns Crytek until the "contract" expires.

But my bet is that EA has indeed aquired Crytek. Its just not public. Which makes me wonder how this actually works. Do they say like "wil will publish your game, if you ship on this date" If this is the case why didnt Crytek give them the finger?

Anycase, sorry to hear the game is already dead in AUS. I have a feeling its on its way out here too.
