What direct X version do you have? (poll)

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 4:21 am

I've got a GTX460 (768mb dedicated / 3,8gb possible) which is originally build for DX11. But mostly I'm playing games with DX9.

My CPU is a Q8200 @ 2,33 GHz
RAM: 6gb

C2 runs with about 37-45 fps with Extreme settings, 60fps in very high. (Both with VSync activated. Without VSync the fps probably would be higher)

actually I'm playing with very high settings, but I'm additionally using autoexec.cfg which decreases the fps a bit (about 10fps less, at lighthouse with the water logically more loss of fps).

P.S. Yeah it's a old graph, have to wait for Valve to update it.

^ it's very old. DX11 accounts for about 20% of GPU's now (so 6m on steam alone), at the time of that graph the gtx460 hadn't even hit the market and that's the most popular card.

Hah of course it's DX11 dominant! Any true Crysis PC fan is going to have expected the game to require some serious power, so we all got the latest and most expensive hardware setups, even though the game turned out to be unimpressive in terms of graphical phenomenon like Crysis was.

I bought twin 5850s just to ensure Crysis 2 wouldn't kick my fat arse with slideshow performance, but I was overwhelmingly disappointed that it didn't even attempt to challenge the cards...so much for overkill, MAXIMUM overkill.

I was using a 260(very happy with it), i then went to two 460s SLIed(having a pair of cards was fun), and now a 580, after the latest nvidia driver release(270.61) it's running real smooth now.
There are some awesome cards available these days, and worth every penny. :D
I enjoy BC2 using dx11, and await C2 dx11, and of course BF3.
