I want the option to choose teams

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 10:20 am

I was playing the multiplayer of Crysis 2 a lot recently and most of the time when I join a game,I'm ALWAYS joining the losing team.I don't mind if the score is balanced and our team still has a chance, but most of the time the enemy team is lliterally obliterating my teammates and all I can do is to just die and wait until my team loses the game. This happened to me 6-7 games in succession and I was pretty angry.I know I'm not the best player(my K/D is around 2.03),but when my teammates just don't play good I want the option to choose a different team.Of course this could lead to unbalanced teams ,so a proper autobalancing tool is a must. I have another suggestion,if the above isn't possible - I want a better(for a lack of better word) matchmaking before the actual game starts. When the game selects the teams I want to play against players that are my level(in my case 28) and not level 40+.What do you guys think?

There is an option called "g_autoAssignTeams 0" which can be used by server admins. Games stay ranked also. I'm using it sometimes to play with my friends.

Wow can't believe I picked the least voted for option. The matchmaking is fine, we don't need noobs saying oh shiiiit I'mma join the winning team! HEY OH.

Naw. **** community suggestions, this is as bad as the whole vote kick scenario. Seriously the consequences are so much greater. Think please! Before you post/vote. Don't just think Hey I have an idea! BLEEURGH all over gamesas. **** idea. /end rant

the auto balance should balance the teams by going by K/D R, then even if there is a hacker it should still be decently balanced

Assault mode 4 vs 4 players. My team lost that match, then two of our teammates leave the session and at the beginning of the next match we have 2 vs 4 situation. My last teammate also leave the match, and I stay alone versus four guys! They beat the hell out of me!

If we have an option to change your team, I guess somebody from rival team will join me.

Yeah, this would be nice AND also make the auto-assign system take the K/D ratio of everybody, then sort the players by K/D and pick players for teams from the bottom until nobody is left and then lastly take the K/D of the entire team and make any changes needed.

But what irritates me the most is that leaving a game counts as a loss. I have to interrupt my game a lot and my W/L is truly horrible.

Letting people choose team is even worse. See BFBC2 for example.
All good players switches to the winning team because they don't want to play with noobs.

Now it's fine, you can lose a game but the next game gets a new barely random team. If you keep losing is not for the matchmaking system but for the team.

I don't care if I lose one game, but the teams are barely randomized the next time.I mean one or two players doesn't make a difference. If their best players stay in the same team they will still kick our a**.More randomized teams would be good.

This is why I don't play a lot of team-based modes, other than TIA:

I agree with the OP, and for those in favor of randomising players, what about those who have real-life friends who are currently playing in the same server? I'm pretty sure they want the option to stick together as a party, because they can communicate with each other properly!
