Recommended AA

I'm running Crysis Very High at 1920x1080, what AA is recommended to make it look nicer?
Also, I'm running a 5850.

Well it really depends. With your card I would really only recommend 2x.

2x really is the sweet spot, since every step up from there is less noticable.

Crysis has it own type of edge smoothing technique too.

normal quality is r_useedgeaa 1

High quality is r_useedgeaa 2

They overall don't look as good, but the difference is, is that they apply to foliage, and they are much more efficient.

I keep AA on ZERO. I compared a 0x vs 8x screenshot, and I noticed absolutely nothing except a loss of FPS.
Now, EdgeAA is another story. It makes everything look very, very pretty without the huge lag.

Completely depends on what resolution you're running. At 1920x1200, the difference 4xAA introduces is fairly minimal. At 1280x720, it's huge.

My recommendation would be to run as much AA as you can before your performance drops too much. I can run 4xAA with minimal performance hit, so i do :)

I never knew AA was dependant on resolutions like that. I always thought it was for the best if you're running a res lower than native, or on games besides Crysis :P
I play at 1920x1080, which is native, and I don't notice anything with AA. So it's for lower resolutions, no matter your default resolution?
