Recreating one and the same scene over and over again in a multiplayer game is nearly impossible. Especially if you're trying to compare your results with those of other people all around the world.
What I mean is an automated flyby showing a map and some action with a screen at the end telling you how good your PC can handle the game.
A benchmark of regular gameplay is far better than a benchmark of a single scene flyby since the gameplay benchmark will far better represent performance.
^ It does. We've seen r_displayinfo = 1 in the dev videos, and at one showing someone turned it on and noted down the FPS and such. Also the command is listed in the xbox.cfg file in the C2 demo, but its turned off.
It's funny to see how many people clearly have to idea what a benchmark actually is.
If you are one of those people, please read this article before posting here again: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benchmark_%28computing%29
I'm talking about a standard test which is performed the same way on each PC. This is the best way to compare the power of different systems. It's nearly impossible to reproduce the same scene over and over again by hand. Especially if different people are testing their systems and trying to compare the results.
Yeah, we know what a bench is dude, but were saying its probably not going to be in the demo. And like people have said, I personally think fraps and displayinfo are more meaningful when used in average game play.

i know what you mean but ppl are not listenning lol ......yeah it would be grate if we could compare our results like that. just like the mafia 2 had in its demo gameplay/benchmark.
