Crysis and Crysis warhead

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 4:41 am

Since Crysis 2 is coming out I've decided that maybe I should get a previous game just to know the story, and because I hear Crysis 1 and Warhead are amazing. IDK if I should get Warhead or Crysis tho??

I went to http://www.systemrequirementslab.com and for warhead I passed all recommened except for video card (same thing for minimum) . For Crysis recommened I passed all but CPU and Video Card, minimum it was just video card. Im on Acer Aspire 5734Z. And I wouldn't want to spend too much money :P

Should I try to make my laptop able to run the games or just drop it cuz I rlly dnt wanna pay more than 70$ lil more is OK i guess.... but im a teen so budgets kinda small XD

nd also are ther any good MMORPG's u suggest?

Well, I play Crysis on a Core 2 duo, Radeon 5400M, 4GB HP laptop. I probably get between 15 - 20 fps on Crysis Wars. And its playable. Smooth with no frame skipping, on medium. So it depends on what specs your laptop has. Why don't you list them.

As for what you want, it depends on whether you want SP or MP play. SP = Crysis 1, Warhead. MP = Crysis Wars ( comes with Warhead ).
Crysis 1 and Warhead are really the same game, just the views of two different players on opposite sides of the Island.

Don't even try. 70 dollars wont get you anything. you need to be willing to spend 400 bucks minimum for a new CPU and GPU to run the game. You would probably also need a bigger PSU. possibly more RAM.

Sorry. My PC cost me 800 and its only able to run at high.

If you don't make the minimum requirements, then maybe it would be a better idea to pick Crysis 2 up for the console version.

You will not be able to enjoy Crysis and Crysis Warhead without upgrading to a completely better computer.

You did something wrong. Just built a PC for my friend for 350 and it runs Crysis on high at 720p (his monitor svcks) with 30-40 fps.

@ Kill2Fill

The Crysis Series are still the most demanding games when it comes to hardware.
The reason why Crysis and warhead were never realeased on consoles is that the scenario of a jungle/island is hard to scale down without tearing the game to bits. I think Crytek tried to bring it on consoles but the results werent pleasing enough. ( There would be no excuse for a very limited draw distance in Crysis ;-) ).

As the others said... for about 550 $ you should already get a fast (desktop-) machine who could tun all Crysis ( includes C2) titles smoothly on very high.

Laptops are not really designed for gaming. You can get gaming laptops but even they tend to lag behind in performance stakes and Crysis needs all the performance you can get. As far as I can tell you are running an integrated graphics system which will be very limiting for Crysis. I would say if you really want to play Crysis you should sell the laptop and use the money to get a desktop system - unless you need the laptop for other reasons of course.

As for the games, I would say play Crysis as it fleshes out the story more than Warhead does. Warhead was just a fun expansion that allowed you to play as one of the other guys in your Spec Ops team. The demo for Crysis is still out there so why don't you download it and see how it performs.

I can see the HUGE problem you have right now. I don't know much about the new Intel CPU's, but that INTEL GRAPHICS CHIP is what is killing your game. You need a decent Nvidia or Radeon graphics processor to play Crysis. The Intel graphics chips svck.

EDIT: ACK! Outposted!

Well, when it is your job to lie to people, you just have to do it.

You should visit Tom's Hardware's forums before buying a PC. There's quite a few people on there that would know what the best price for performance CPUs and video cards are(inc. me, I'm frequently on there). $70 should be enough for a good enough video card to just barely play the game, but there wouldn't be enough for anything else.

BTW, my other video card died on me, so now I'm using an old(2003-2004) ATI X800 that wasn't even high end for it's time. It plays Crysis just fine on minimum@1280X1024. :)

I have a 1440x900 res. The best card I could afford was a 5770. My budget wasn't too great. I had it custom made and decided I wanted over clocking advantages so I got liquid cooling. Also a really cheap case. A great Mobo, a 700 watt PSU for future upgrades too. a 1 tb hdd because I'll use it all up in no time.

You can generally build a crysis maxing (at 1680x1050) computer for about £450 (or ~$550 in the US) at the moment :)

So ya, definitely ask around at forums the next time you get a computer! Plus, learn to build one!
