Lighthouse bug

Post » Thu Dec 30, 2010 11:24 pm

The railing at the top of the lighthouse (the the lighthouse MP map) is bugged. You can shoot through it when you crouch behind it, but you can't shoot through it from outside. So you can crouch behind it and be completely safe from getting shot, but still able to shoot out.

I don't suspect this bug would be easy to fix, but it is an unfair advantage to the sniper willing to exploit it.

I for one now make it a point to stand up for each shot I take, to give fair advantage to shoot back. The best workaround/countermeasure for the bug is to fire the JAW at the side of the lighthouse behind the exploiting sniper.

I tested the bug by playing as a sniper earlier tonight, and I was very easily able to get a score of 17-2 in TIA, because counter-snipers were completely ineffective.

To all the gamers reading this, please don't exploit the bug too much. I know it's hard not to use it, but I think it violates fair play.

You know what's fun to do in Lighthouse? Go in stealth mode and sneak up the inside of the lighthouse and stealth kill the sniper :P

I've been shot a fair few times while I've been crouch behind the lighthouse railing, theres just a much higher chance of hitting the railing rather than the sniper, although I will say that I agree that it is easy to exploit, but then again it's not like the enemy team doesn't know where you are, so sending up a few people to kill the sniper should do the job, or even better, send in a Orbital Strike, it's not like the sniper would live though that.

The metal in rails and fences are made out of a super dense material that emits a strong gravitational pull and svcks in bullets like a black hole. Seriously while I appreciate movie physics now and then the inconsistency of such a design(flaw) has almost no place in a competitive multiplayer game. (Or a multiplayer game that wants to be competitive

No. The railing uses Nanosuit 3. With unlimited armor as it's special feature.

Oh, and shooting to the wall behind the sniper/rail with grenade launcher works, too.
