The new cryengine is just a "optimized" version of the one used in the first crysis made to fit the consoles, there is nothing new in it...but nobody seems to get it...same game, different location,i'm just buying it for the multiplayer unless there is a similar way to play it without buying it like crysis wars...if there is no way, i will just wait until the price drops to 20-30 for the ps3 version.

*Waiting for incoming rage XD*
Naa,i will get it for the ps3 first day if there will be a demo.

Wrong. Its a new engine.

Why would you buy for only the MP? You know most people here would kill you for doing just that.

Also Why wait on the experience of your life?

Also thank you Comfy for again cementing my patience. Crysis 2 on Xbox to PC will not be like PS2 game to PS3 game.

Haters will hate.

According to journalists and those who have seen the game, it does. But that's the standard difference between crysis and any console game :)

It's not 'hating' it's fact. PC's are about an order of magnitude more powerful, and CE3 apparently pushes them. What did you expect to happen? Consoles and PC are nowhere near equal in terms of power, absolutely nowhere. It's not some kind of 'zomg fanboyism' going on there, it's the fact that the tech in the xbox is 4 generations of tech behind current PC's. 4.

I knew what i was saying and that it was right but at the same time i wanted it to end up sounding like a joke by adding the last 2 lines to see the reaction of people who are ancious to play the game :)

Aye, he doesn't seem to like truth :)

Bloodyghost, PC's will definitely be locked at low textures and medium across the board at 1280x720 so they look the same as consoles. happy now?

oh, sorry, breaking news, crysis 2 has a very high option and most gpu's will push 1920x1080. Sorry.

Hopefully you see the silliness that the idea that the two versions look very similar is :p

I'm not ranting, i'm explaining to you the reasons for why the difference in crysis 2 versions is said to be so large, as the difference in tech performance is huge :)

It's about an order of magnitude in terms of graphical power and higher than a console generation gap, and from what has been said it does show ^^

I'm not trying to be your enemy, only stating the truth, and it's great that the cryengine 3 pushes PC's for a change. :)

I have not seen it.

the PC version in Crysis 2 was great but not a WHOLE console gap over the consoles. Probably the PS3 since all we have seen is a **** screen but thats all.

And I am just saying in general. I know your not.

I have not seen it either, but guys who have seen it have said that. To be honest, it's easy enough to see as even crysis 1 is far beyond the reach of consoles :)

It's also the reason the PC footage in CE3 trailers is advertised as 'next-gen ready', even CRYTEK agree the pc version is a generation ahead! :D

Anyways, regardless, it's been 6 years of tech advancement since the 360 chip was made (not released!), that's pretty much a definite generation leap there. You must also remember that running at 1920x1080 needs a fair whack more power to do just on it's own, so to improve graphics considerably and run at a 4x bigger resolution with anti aliasing is definitely another generations worth :)

Check the difference from ps2 to ps3 (not necessarily the ones which pushed the ps3 to the ragged edge, but average ue3 games) and you'll see that, actually, yeah, it's quite easily possible that the PC is that far ahead. The cryengine 3 isn't pushing PC's to the ragged edge either (plenty of headroom even for crysis 1 now), hopefully it'll form the average level of graphics we should be expecting :)

Has krytek released the requirements for the game? How come they are selling it and people don't even know if they can run it, you can base you purchase on what someone supposes.

Because the game is in development and they don't want to give information that may prove false later.

System Requirements will be lower than they were in Crysis 1, at least this is what I heard from the Crytek staff on these forums.

My advice to all of you is this: since crysis 1 was extream, the graphics cards of today are indeed crushing the hell out of crysis 1... and since it's on the same cry-engine 2 (3).... lol..... I would not be suprised of the power needs:

heres is my evidence: the GTX 500 series are out and making a mince meat out of Crysis, so i would cater the following:

minimum requirments:

windows 7 home

Cpu: core 2 duo 2.2 GHZ

VGA: 465 GTX/Saphire 5050 (LOL)

motherboard: any of the current generation models..

HHD in 7200 RPM range

HSF: (suits to you're needs)

I bellieve anything lower than this will require you an upgrade.

Also for laptops...

I reccommend the following company barebones:

Clevo

and http://www.kobaltcomputers.co.uk are the boys behind extream laptops that makes crysis 1 a little feather.

I'm getting one myself for Crysis 2 <:)

price range are 1000 GDP (pounds) and up toword 5000 GDP (pounds)
they are the craziest laptops known to man... lol
