No. You will have to follow down narrow corridors and make sharp corners constantly

On a serious note, its going to be the same as crysis 1

a little less open world compared to Crysis 1, but much more vertical gameplay (instead of being a large open plane area, it will have buildings to climb up and in to)

Am I the only one who has been glued to this site just waiting for a release date LOL?

Luckily my boss has not seen me on gamesas ;D

Edit: It's going be a little more limited then Crysis 1 due to it being consolized, yet were still gonna be able to move around in open areas I would think. Just not as much as in Crysis.

Yeah...this is your big important boss person. Aren't you supposed to be filing the files and shipping the ships?

The boss can easily fire you for being on social websites. It means you are offtask and costing that company money for work you are not doing. With the economy the way it is, someone who WONT waste the company money will gladly fill his position.

I don't really think there will be much free roaming, though I'm happy to be proven wrong.

It's more of scripted linear events, but its Sandbox though. Slight free roam options. :|

i'm under the impression that it will be a lot more directed than crysis was. you'll go from point a to b with different ways to accomplish that, but the playing field will be much narrower. you'll be able to go different routes, but they will all take you from the same direction. that probably doesn't make much sense, but i'm predicting we will have a linear single player with different was to complete the objectives.

The bits with pewpew and actual gameplay will be like Crysis, except there'll be no empty, dead, huge spaces between the fun.
Instead there'll be story, scripted bits and collapsing skyscraqers wearing aviator shades diving through glass windows shooting dual SMGs.

Those "empty, dead, huge spaces" allowed you to plan your encounters. You could go up on a hill and spot with binoculars. Perhaps snipe a few enemies. Look for possible entry points and critical points to attack. They also served the purpose of giving you time and space to breath and take in the gorgeous scenery and play with the physics.

By the way, the large room did not only make for empty areas. It allowed for enemy camps to be spaced out, not only from each other, but also within the enemy camps so that encounters are much more involved with more factors and less straightforward.

Probably not. It's going to be on the consoles so I would put money on it being VERY linear.

Still, the terrain will "give you options" ;)

I'd choose awesome linear scripted events over an open world of regular junk. Crysis 2 will be an eye-candy roller coaster 50x better than all CoD games combined. :)

The fact that they hired a new writer for Crysis 2 means we'll be getting more narrative. This, combined with the levels openness should be a real good treat.

But of course, we still get the open to explore, even if it's not much, it's still quite alot. Plus, if we do get the Sandbox 3 editor for PC, then I'm definitely going to start making a level up large enough to be open world and free roam.

As well, I do hope they fixed that 8km limit, or something like that. I heard many people having problems with it (When reaching over the limit, the game/editor would crash, or something like that).
