Please don't release early, we can wait!

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 10:33 am

Sorry, this is another post related to the leak but I wanted to share my thoughts after reading some rumours... http://www.fudzilla.com/games/item/21834-crysis-2-has-been-leaked

The rumours being that a release date could be moved forward to combat potential lost sales, which I think would be a bad decision. The vast majority of the community and PC gamers in general, are more than able to wait the month or so for the release.

I've waited over 3 years for the sequel to one of my favourite games, let's wait until Crytek is finally ready.

Plus, on a positive note, people are showing restraint on the torrent sites... http://torrentfreak.com/crysis-2-leak-fails-to-result-in-massive-download-fest-110213/

Actually, we can't wait. Forget those 3 years of waiting. There's 1 more month to go and no one wants that number to rise. IF there will be a delay atleast release the demo NOW and for unlimited time (MP version) untill the game releases so we can actually do something. Everything else is ****... I've been visiting this site every day atleast 20+ times refreshing and whatnot.

Well I'd love to see it delayed.
There was a lot of issues with the console demo and I'm not convinced they're fixed.

Yep, I can't wait either, but at the same time I would like a polished and complete game. Hopefully, they release a demo soon. If they leave the release date that would be okay, but I just hope it doesn't get delayed.

I dont think they will release the game early. Pushing the game early means creating havoc for gaming launching events = great logistics problem. Another thing is Crytek has to generate a new set of keys for the game because the master key was leaked with the beta.

I wasn't meaning that I was concerned about a delay to the game. I meant there was talk of the release date being moved forward, which could mean an unfinished game is released.

It was suppose to be November. I assume it was delayed for several reasons. They wanted the game to be more polished, and not compete with Call of Duty.

Crysis is set to arrive on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on March 22nd and moving the date up could be tricky, as there are a number of high profile titles set for release, including Fight Night Champions, Major League Baseball, Dragon Age 2 and the highly anticipated Homefront. Taking on one of these titles could limit the sales of Crysis 2; but it will be a difficult decision, as the leaked version might be doing more damage.

In all honesty, none of those games stated above will not affect with Crysis 2 sales in a big way, especially since Crysis 2 is not a "1 day only sale, after that we are no longer selling it" game. The only competition Crysis 2 have is Dragon Age 2 & Homefront. Other than that, everything should be steady for Crysis 2

As much as I'd like them to release an extremely polished game, this situation is kind of like homework. There's a deadline, sometimes you get a delay... but for them to get another delay... now that's bad. Lets just hope they maintain the game a lot post launch via patches too.

First off to the guy that said about the console version that was infact beta code and should have been called Crysis 2: Public Multiplayer BETA.

I think the 22nd,25th of March release dates are set in stone so I wouldnt worry or get excited.

Up from where? What are you talking about? Crytek haven't gone anywhere, they didn't go down any hill either physically or metaphorically. Maybe there was a bit of a rock slide but so what. When the going gets tough, the tough get going.
