GAME FREEZES every 2-3 minutes

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 11:14 am

Game runs great, getting around 50-65 frames p/sec avg. on Extreme settings, but every 2 - 3 minutes, the screen will freeze for 15-20 seconds, sound playing normally, then black screen, for 5-10 sec, then back to normal.

I have no intention of playing multiplayer, but I can't go thru the single player like this, specially when it seems to like to do it dead in the middle of firefights. Here's my setup:

AMD Phenom IIx4 940 BE (3.5GHz)
Gigabyte GTX560 ti SOC edition
4gb DDR2 1066 RAM
Gigabyte GA-MA790X AM3 motherboard

Literally nothing running in the bg (cept FRAPS).

C'mon Crytek, at least let me play the game. This has to be something relatively simple.

Have you updated your game to 1.4?

Sounds like a GPU issue to me. Last driver updated ? overclocking ? are temps ok ?

No, I don't think it's gpu related. I have the 270.61 drivers, the card is factory oc'd to 900mhz, 2000mhz (std 822, 1800) temps are fine, framerate is good before n after the freezes.

Just seems like somethings interrupting the game every few mins.

Bump.

Does anyone have any info on windows processes that might be interfering with gameplay? Anybody had to disable/stop a process to fix anything for the single player?

BUMP.

THERE IS NOTHING i CAN FIND TO REMEDY THIS PROBLEM. I've tried turning off almost every single Win7 process individually and the thing still freezes every few mins.

My temps (both cpu and gpu) are normal. My framerate is in the 50's.

I'd really like to finish the singleplayer (I'm still at Battery Park) - You've obviously put alot of effort into production Crytek. Now can I please get my money's worth for it?

Honestly feels like a problem on your computer
There doesnt seem to be much people with the same problem, and Crysis 2 has low (and I mean low) system requirements.
My GTX470 doesnt go over 60C when playing Crysis 2, and that's with an anti-noise (AKA low air flow) case.

I have a new gtx 550 ti and have the same problem. Screen goes black and says lost dvi then comes back then crashes etc.. Plays good when running. I'm playing Brink, Blops, Homefront with no issues. I have latest drivers and tried different cable and monitor?
