New to PC gaming, need help finding right sensitivity.

I use a razer naga MMO mouse, as MMO was my genre of choice for many years. I've heard to crank the DPI all the way up and decrease in game sensitivity, and I've also heard to keep the DPI low. My question is, how does one go about gauging which sensitivity feels perfect? Any basic tips you guys have that could get me started?

Its all personal preference
I like to have maximum speed (and maximum DPI) so I can aim faster, but it took a long time before I got used to it, instead of spinning in circles.
Now that Im used to it, I can aim faster than my friends, and my friends just spin around in circles if they try using my computer :P

I use the RAZER Deathadder 3500. you can train yourself to get faster and more precise. the faster your dpi and mouse sensitivity the better advantage you have in FPS games. Just remember to never adjust your sensitivity through Microsoft control panel. always use your naga driver.

use the highest dpi in your mouse driver as well has the highest polling rate. then open the sensitivity panel and start very low. after you get really good at that setting improve the sensitivity and keep going. i play with my sensitivity at 8 out of 10. VERY fast and as soon as i get better at it i will raise it to 9 and then 10.

I use the Cyborg RAT 7 mouse (best mouse ever), its customizable so you can physically alter it to fit your hands. As far as sensitivity, I have 4 dpi settings. I keep the in game sensitivity at default (so u never have to change it, any game u play) and use my first dpi setting at 750. Then 2,3 & 4 at 800, 900, and 1100. Starting off at 750/800 is perfect because its low, but not low enough that you will have to sweep your mouse much at all. Once you master that you may or may not find yourself upping the ante slightly. Too high sensitivity will make you lose accuracy. At 750 with default in-game settings, people ask me all the time what my sensitivity is because I get consistent headshots and hit multiple targets at the same time. Master that first.
Also, add me on steam if you need a friend to play with ya

too high sensitivity will only make you loose accuracy if you are not trained at that speed.

I used to use high sensitivity and was actually really good aim with it in crysis 1. You CAN train your hand to any speed but when I used my friends set up with a slower speed I found my accuracy jump a few % higher. Make sure mouse acceleration is off. Then no matter how fast you use your mouse it doesn't speed up. It stays a constant speed. I use 3 on my crysis 2 settings because I changed it in the exe. file to make it adjust.

So mine is super slow but you just need to move more area of your mouse when you turn around quick but it still works completely fine. So try a slow speed and you will notice you won't allow yourself to move your mouse aim when on a target as quick so it feels more smooth.

In essence, choose what feels good to your play style and keep it there. Train your aim and the rest will set in over time. I prefer slow slow speed but enough to do a jump turn around within my mouse pad. I cannot do a full 360 spin within the area of my mouse pad but that is ok with me. 180 degree turn is perfect.

800DPI is you are sniping. above 1200 - 1,600 DPI at least for run n gun.. u need to turn your back fast enough. to watch your own six.

I have also adjusted the in-game mouse sensitivity from the default 25% to 30% and I found it coping well with 1,200 DPI for my run n gun. Never a sniper though.

That is why i have my mouse dpi hotkeyed :)

if i grab a sniper in a game i press one button right on the mouse and BAM i go from 3500dpi to 800.
