Commonly Asked Questions - Answers

Hello!

I see a lot of people posting repeat-threads for very common questions,
and I though I'd be nice and answer most of them for you here.
_________________________________________________________________

Does this game have Split-screen?

Short answer - No. Crysis 2 does not support multiple players on a single platform.
_________________________________________________________________
Does this game have vehicles?

There are drivable vehicles in the single-player campaign, although none in Multiplayer.
What types of vehicles are unconfirmed.
_________________________________________________________________
Will this game have a map-editor on consoles?

This is unconfirmed - But it is very likely that there will NOT be a map editor on consoles.
_________________________________________________________________
Can my PC run it?

The minimum specs can be seen in the official announcements, but to save you time;

Operating system: Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7, with the latest Service Pack
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo at 2Ghz, or AMD Athlon 64 x2 2Ghz, or better
Memory: 2Gb (Vista requires 3Gb)
Hard disk space: 9Gb
Video: NVidia 8800GT with 512Mb RAM, ATI 3850HD with 512Mb RAM, or better
Sound: DirectX Compatible Sound Card
DirectX?: 9.0c
Internet connection is needed for a one-time authorization when the game installed/first run.
________________________________________________________________
Will I keep my stats from the demo when I buy the full game?

No, you start from the beginning like everyone else.
________________________________________________________________
"Press (A) for Air Friction"??

"Air Friction" is an "upgrade" of the Air Stomp Module - awarded for 25 kills with it.
It allows a brief slow-down of a fall, and can be used to reduce fall-damage, and other things.

In the console demo was glitched in that at some rare points in some games,
you are given the prompt despite whether or not you have unlocked it.
________________________________________________________________
Why isn't there a demo for PS3?

From what I've gathered (although I can't confirm), Crytek has made a deal with Microsoft
for exclusives. Microsoft does this often.
________________________________________________________________
Why are there small maps and only 6v6? Is this because of consoles?

This was a design choice by Crytek, and has little to do with the limits of consoles (although some may argue).
This is a new angle for their Multiplayer, and is well received by many.
________________________________________________________________
Which console is better for Crysis 2; PS3 or Xbox 360?

Both versions have been developed simultaneously and should be almost identical,
besides a thew very minor graphical differences.
________________________________________________________________
Will there be a "hardcoe Mode"?

It has been stated there there will be alternate ruled mode(s).
________________________________________________________________
What is Chuck Norris's weakness?

An angry wife.

Well, that's it.

where's the evidence to back this up? There's still two mp modes with zero information given about them.

I'm pretty sure Crytek has confirmed that there are no vehicles in multiplayer.
The game modes are (as seen in demo records);

Instant action [Standard free for all]
Team instant action [Team vs team]
Crash site [King of the Hill - type mode]
Assault [The attacking team must download files onto/from the defending teams (????)]
Capture the Relay [A Crysis-themed variant of Capture the Flag]
Extraction [unknown, possibly VIP - based]

This is something called "Live Create".
It's just a feature that lets Crytek develop all 3 variants (PC, Xbox, PS3) simultaneously.

It is not an editor for consoles.

Most people on PC know why, and console owners haven't seen much of Crysis 1.
It's not that common of a question.

Its 6v6 small maps only for the multiplayer, but that might be raised for the PC (its a rumour).

Though we could use that to our advantage, theoretically... :|

From what I've gathered (although I can't confirm), Crytek has made a deal with Microsoft
for exclusives. Microsoft does this often.
While I don't want to get into a habbit of explaining Crytek's various relationships, we've made no mention of any exclusive deals on any platforms.

Really? How about the XBOX 360... Wait for it... Wait for it... EXCLUSIVE (Bingo!) demo? I mean, how about that?

Tom, let me ask you something. Have you actually made attempt to clarify when the PC demo might appear? Because to be quite honest, the "it will be released some time before the release of the game" is getting kind of old. On top of the fact that we already know that anyway. Actually, we did since the actual announcement. The announcement specifically included "pre-release", which actually gives away the fact that it will be released before the release of the game. Imagine that!

I'm sorry if it seems like I'm trying to bash or attack you. The truth is, I'm kind of fed up with being told the same old crap, over and over again. I'm sorry. It's like... being told that the bus will come some time before the end of the day, at the bus stop, in the morning. Over and over again. It's kind of annoying, as you can probably imagine. Maybe falsely, but I assume you just haven't made any effort to clarify the date with the developers. That's my assumption. I'm sorry if it's wrong. But I think you can understand where it's coming from.

Just for the record then, have you made any attempt to clarify the date of which the PC demo might appear?

That's why I said it's unconfirmed ;)
Although what you just said wasn't a solid no.... ["We've made no mention"]

I suppose the real answer of "Why no PS3 demo?" may never be revealed :\
