are there any official reasons why they ported?

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 9:57 am

Just coming to the term port but I totally get it.

Have there been any explanations from the company as to why they felt the need to adapt Crysis to be more playable for consoles and whether they feel it diminishes the legacy of Crysis?

I remember playing Crysis 1 and knowing it went beyond standard gaming; how is that possible when you're making a game that is designed for different consoles?

Also is going beyond standard gaming like Crysis 1 not fiscally feasible and is there more money to be made for making games that can be played en masse and not specifically for one group?

Um, they didn't port it, if they ported it, they'd be releasing Crysis 1, but this time for the Xbox/PS3.
they just kind of expanded their game to all major platforms to get more cash, and if we're lucky, that means the next game is going to be kick ass.

Consoles software sales out sell PC and console gaming is more accesabile to a wider audience... Period. If your stuck on this "Where's their loyalty to Pc gamers!" my words are "Why do you have loyalty to a corporation?" Thats fanboy-ism, grow up. Money makes the world go around.

Ok, Mr. Spooky based on your image, I can make two guesses, ether they want more chicks, or they want to put pirates into one of their games.

Ah the eternal question; Pirates or Ninjas?

Pirates;
Gets to plunder booty on the high seas
Has whences (see above)
Has guns, cannons and a ship

Ninjas;
Are super flexible, strong and are gymnastic athletes
Have super stealth skills and hand eye co-ordination
Has swords, shurikens, and bows

I am disappointed that prone was removed. The binocs were downgraded, and the suit runs out far too quickly since just running armor drains It. You can't sprint without the suit running out in 3 seconds either. Can't shoot while holding an enemy either. You can thank people on youtube with the leak for this info. I will still buy the game. I just hope it gets a little polished.

To be honest i was expecting all of these things .You know why?Cause this game is going to consoles.Dont get me wrong there where times that consoles proved innovative (metal gear solid 1) or shemmue on dreamcast and many other examples.The thing is that now consoles are in every house.They are in houses that ppl dont know what a chip is or how it works.Consoles are in houses that ppl wanna play for 1hour and have some fun ,they dont care about balance or innovation ,they try everything that is hyped and sometimes prefer to play a game and dont think at all.Guess what?Sprinting and strafing simultaneously removed,sandbox big open enviroments removed,using your imagination to play the game(cause many ppl dont bother to use it)removed.As for the future of the pc gaming well look at starcraft 2:> .Also tlak about the future of gaming when a pc exclusive comes out.

"Because"

Indeed, it is a deep philosophical answer that requires a lot of delving into the mind to think about the consequences of such a profound response.
