Can we have more than 12 players for pc?

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 7:42 am

I just looked at server rental from multiplay and in the small print at the bottom it says this.

The game only officially support 12 players servers. Anything over 12 players isn't officially supported and hence may suffer problems which may not get fixed.

Does this mean we can infact have more players but just wont get official support?

What does everyone think?

Also notice a demo server is up already so hopefully that means pc demo very soon.

Reportedly the leaked PC-version supports 8v8. Obviously this is far from official, but its what i've read from several sites.

Maybe like TF2 which supports 24 players officially but you can play on 32 player servers

It might mean that you will be able to play on servers with more people, but you shouldn't complain about the balance, performance issues or glitches caused by this

No need for the leaked dev folder to tell you that. Check out Multiplays web site, GSP's are allowed to sell 8v8 although as per usual Crytek haven't said any official.

The big question will Crytek allow modders to tweak the server dll's to increase the player slots. This will be the only way we as a community can create other MP maps etc. Otherwise all mapper are going to be stuck creating quite small maps for 8v8. But hey I'm sick of repeating myself on this subject, you never know Crytek may have a surprise up their sleeve still....hopefully

it will happen :) oh and don't forget cell i have faith in you to produce some excellent maps for C2 :) ttfn x

The maps are the right size for 8v8 games any more and the maps would be cramped abit.

There's one map which is like 5x the size of Skyline. It's not Pier 17 or any others anyone has seen.
It has a collapsed Statue of Liberty in it.
