The only clue so far was some marketing from Nvidia for the GTX560 (IIRC) which stated it was a good DX11 card for upcoming DX11 games and it listed Crysis 2 as one of them. No clue as to what the DX11 enhancements might be if the marketing was true and not a mistake.

Yes it will use DX11, to not do so is idiotic. DX11 is the best option for developers, as it can run DX9 and DX10 code natively. DX11 is now standard across Windows 7 and Vista. EA recently announced that BF3 WILL NOT support dx9 so it will not run on windows XP at all. Its not much of a leap to realise that Dx9 and XP are way out of date now and only hindering the development cycle.

Yes it will. I saw in a recent article that EA confirmed DX11 for several titles. One of which was Crysis 2.

Im sure we're all hoping that dx 11 will make a huge leap in graphical appearances.
I was a bit dissapointed in the graphics from the beta.

This is wrong in two ways

Other than small demos, there has been virtually no real PS3 footage/media.

Also, from what I understand, the PS3 does not use DirectX period, it uses OpenGL.

And this part is an assumption, but I really doubt the PS3 version will use tessellation, and if it does, it will be at the lowest possible setting

PS3 doesn't have hardware tessellation, funnily enough as I recall the 360 does because AMD were already toying around with it B4 DX11 but it's nothing like PC has now. Open GL can support hardware tessellation though, if Cryengine 3 can get some benefits out of software tessellation on console I think we'd probably have heard.

There is no tesselation for any of the consoles. PS3 and 360 are set to what....well basically, a DX to the standards of DX9 nothing more. They can not run at DX11. DX10 is like a DX9 improvement and DX11 is the bridge to the next generation of graphics.

tesselation is a relatively new technology, i highly doubt a weak machine from 5 years ago would be able to take advantage of that technology.

Just a few bits of info that I'm aware of:

According to Nvidia, Crysis 2 will be a DX11 title... http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/product-geforce-gtx-560ti-uk.html

yes it will have DX11 and based on the ps3 config files/video I seen on YouTube the ps3 version has tesselation but the xbox version doesn't So PC will def have it

The 360 does have hardware tessellation... http://www.beyond3d.com/content/articles/4/9
I can't think of any examples when tessellation has been used in a 360 game, but it may be used in a low-level capacity in most games.

In actual fact, ATi introduced tessellation way back in 2006 with the HD 2000 series. It's only now with DX11 that it's become mandatory that we're starting to see it in games.
