One TEENSY little thing to drastically improve Crysis 2

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 1:59 pm

Here it goes.... The one thing to make Crysis 2 PERFECT. It's already 99.99% perfect, but this one thing should make the game infinitely better!

Make the first alien you fight ungrabbable

Imagine: The first alien you face! It leaps and bounds across the terrain, going high and low, and dodging and weaving around your bullets! It leaps towards you, hitting your armour with its metallic arms! You manage to hit it with 3 SMG bullets while frantically navigating the wreckage, craters, etc. It jumps to the highest point, and you follow! It leaps off to the very bottom, and you leap with it, firing your SMG one-handed as you drop through the air! You hit the ground and stagger, and the alien draws near to finish you off! In a last-ditch effort you POWER-MELEE! A strike so powerful, it drains all remaining energy and requires use of your left fist instead of your weapon, for fear of snapping the firearm in two! The alien crumples into a wall, sparks and blood flying out! You pant in exhaustion at the epicness.

Currently: The first alien you face! It leaps and bounds across the terrain, going high and low, and dodging and weaving around your bullets! It leaps towards you, hitting your armour with its metallic arms! You press F, grab it, then throw it. It dies.

All Crytek need to do is tick a box for that one alien, if CE3 is even slightly similar to CE2.

But... Why? Then, you shouldn't be able to grab the first human you encounter as well! In the first game, the game basically came to an end when the aliens came out. They just weren't fun to fight with. They jumped around, you couldn't properly grab them, it took 9287 bullets to kill them and so on and so forth.

When it comes to aliens in this game and the aspect of fighting, they should be just as easy/difficult to fight, as the humans. At the end of the day, it's all about fun. If I want to grab an alien and punch that bastard in the face, I'll do that, because I like it. There is no reason to restrict that with the first or third or fifth encounter. What they have going now is great.

Although... We've been walking on this planet for like what? 20 thousand or so years. They? About 3. You don't see us jumping around head first into enemies, even in nanosuits. Apparently, they feel comfortable doing so. Maybe it's some fancy smancy animation they do for the trailers, but... Man, even so...

I grabbed aliens all the time in the first Crysis. Also, strength punch goes a long way. Learn to play before speaking about the game, please.

To clarify, the OP isn't talking about grabbing any alien, they're referring to only the very first (scripted by the sound of it) encounter.
