Why is the INSANE FLICKERING still happening?!

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 6:16 am

I have all the latest drivers, I've called EA multiple times, I've contacted Alienware to make sure everything, & I installed the new patch & the problem still persists.

EA doesn't want to help me (they just keep talking me around in circles). I still have yet to find a patch for this issue. I have to rename the application file rift.exe to trick my graphics card to play it "properly" when I shouldn't have to.

A message to Crytek:
The game has been out for nearly 2 months now & this issue has yet to be resolved. I'm forced to find a workaround for a product that wasn't fully polished like it should have been. Even still, the problem should've been rectified immediately & I'm still waiting. I'm forced to play the game on the lowest settings possible, & now you've announced a new multiplayer map pack before this issue, which is a very popular one, is fixed? How dare you.

I don't want to mess anything up and download something that shouldn't be on my laptop. Besides, I shouldn't have to look for complicated scenarios to fix this problem. That's Crytek's job. Thank you for responding though

I have a REAL computer. It's an Alienware M17x R2 with 8GB, i7 intel core duo which is much better than most desktops. I have dx11 as well. and this game looks god but still not as good as Crysis 1. Idk if DX11 will make that much of a difference but Im hoping so

Are you running SLI or crossfire (alienware so I assume you are) because if so then try running on 1 graphics card and see if that helps.

WTF does this mean? :)

There are some minimum requirements and they were formed so people would know will their gear handle the game or not!

If the game does not run smoothly and other games with similar requirements run without problems then Im 100% sure it is Crytek fault. And there is no further need to explain that 2+2 is 4.

Ya I have absolutely no problems with any other games. I may be comparing apples and oranges here but when I purchased Portal 2 there were absolutely ZERO problems running it. There are so many problems with this game it isn't even funny.

@Matteeispro: I am running Crossfire. I think that renaming the file to rift.exe does exactly that. I still shouldn't have to. I played throgh the campaign that way and am doing so on the multiplayer. Again though, I shouldn't have to and to me that's essentially ony giving me 70% of the game. I can't enjoy the way it should look. It's total BS

@Heneke96:
I really feel for ya. I couldn't restrain myself as I'd rather not have spent $60 on a paperweight. It would be a rather fantastic game if it weren't for all of the glitches. There are so damn many & were not being updated on if they even plan to fix it. Hell Bioware and Eidos Montreal are extremely connected with their forums & Facebook and post all the time (nearly every day it seems). We almost never get anything in here.

@KulcanX7:
I really agree. I understand trying to maximize profits which is what seems like multiplayer does for games these days, but the actual game itself is the foundation and, I believe, should be solid before moving on the to the "extra" stuff such as this DLC
