Another new possible fix for flickering with Crossfire

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 12:18 am

Hi, first of all, these are my specs:

- Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit using DirectX11
- Intel Core i7 Extreme 965, 3733 MHz
- Intel Tylersburg X58 Chipset
- SDRAM 6GB DDR3 (3x2GB, (7-7-7-20 @ 533 MHz) (6-6-6-18 @ 457 MHz)
- Dual Sapphire 5850 Extreme Edition 2048MB in total
- Sound: Logitech G35 7.1 Surround Gaming Headset + Sound Blaster Titanium X-Fi (when not using the Headset).
- Acer G24 24" LCD Monitor FullHD 60Hz, using HDMI.
- 1x Kingston SSD 64GB, 245MB/s reading, 145MB/s writing + 2x640GB WD Caviar Green SATA-II in RAID-0 7200 RPM + 1x500GB WD Caviar Blue 7200 RPM.

So, this was my solution:

- Download AMD Catalyst drivers version 11.1.
- Install the drivers, then leave everything has it comes, don't touch anything.
- (Of course, leave Crossfire ON).
- Run Crysis 2, without changing its name (NOT bioshock.exe or rift.exe etc...) then turn VSync ON and Extreme Settings (Or the quality of your choice).
- Yes, TURN VSYNC ON.
- I'm getting 60 fps always, never less than 58, with extreme graphics. Without VSync, it drops to 35-85, changing every second and giving lag and freeze sensation.

Hope it helps =)

I think you took more time to post your detailed specs then actually giving useful information to the community.

Just saying.

1st - If you give Feedback to someone it's necessary to give the specs (at least I think so).
2nd - It took like 2 seconds. 1 for copying, 1 for pasting. In my YouTube channel (i7SLI) the specs are detailed already.
3rd - If this doesn't work for you, i'm sorry. In case you don't need help because your game is running well, then great for you, but please do not criticize things that are well made.
