Is there any way you can go back to an earlier part of the game? I played a section while being distracted then just as it was going on with the rampant instructions I stopped the game. Later when I restarted it was a totally new area with no idea where I left off. Older games had save points why doesnt this game?

You can, just go through the other selections other than Resume, if i remember correctly its under Campaign
