Standard Edition Removed For Sale ?

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 4:33 am

Standard edition is only available after the release date.
Limited edition is only available before the release date.
If you buy the game before release date(preorder), it will be the limited edition.
If you buy the game after the release date, it will be standard edition.

Yes. We have known this for a long time. EA does this with all of their games now.

The Limited Edition has always been available over the Standard Edition while stocks last. No idea why you're getting upset over a free upgrade to a better version...

They didn't do it with BC2 ?

yes they did, it unlocked some stuff for you from the start (like the tracer dart and vehicle armor).

What are you complaining about both the standard and LE versions are the same price and its been well known for months about the free upgrade/pre-order bonus. And as far as supporting the leak, you deserve whatever a mod throws at you.

It's simply a limited first edition - like the first edition of Trackmania United (which contained a t-shirt) or the limited first edition of Darksiders, the Hellbook Edition. Which were both better than the Crysis 2 LE in my opinion, but whatever.

Your complaining about getting more bang for your buck?
Man, I'm glad your not one of my regular customers, I'd refuse to handle you. Like last night I had a customer ordering 1 pizza and he was shocked at the price for one pizza... But we had a deal for 2 that was the same price for the one pizza. Guess he didn't like saving money or having leftovers...
Oh well. Customers are stupid sometimes.

What worries me, quite honestly, is that the platinum dogtag frame doesn't look too different from the standard one, judging by Xbox MP vids. That, or my eyes are broken.

lol not getting upset, but surely the one who get the upgrade for free from the standard won't sit well with the people who have paid for the LE...

lets take the example of past few EA games starting with BC2..

all initial copies you ordered were Limited Edition (LE) editions.. you got some 4 unlocks.. once these got sold, you got the std. edition with no early upgrades..

MOH, initial copies were LE, not sure what the unlocks were, but there surely were.. same price (60$)

dead space 2 LE had DS:Extraction in it.. once the game came out, you don't get the LE anymore and you have to buy Extraction from PSN or Live or somewhere..

now with Crysis 2..

whoever ordered LE would have paid the same price as whoever ordered the Standard edition..

EA has been doing this stuff of late..

appart from the scar skin and the dog tag, there isnt anything much limited. I prefer to have a nice shinny metal box for my LE games. I have not play the demo but from what i heard, it took about 3 game win to get lvl 5, nothing special.

The LE and Standard versions cost the same amount - $60.

You automatically get the LE when you preorder, although nothing has been said when the switch over to only the standard will be available. Crytek loves to never release any information to stop its fans from being utterly confused and not only do we suffer for it, but its really freaking annoying and its way overdue that Crytek answered the communities questions for once.

Lets see Limited version, or Standerd for the same price?
Um yeah, LE > SE, I no problem with it, I was going to get the Standard version, but sense I'm getting upgraded for free to the Limited, I say Thanks Crytek, I wish I had more money to upgrade to the nano version, oh well, I'll just by the action figure to stick on my Desk.
