New idea to increase gameplay hours Crysis 2! (DLC co-op)

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 9:25 am

Hi guys,

Some guys are complaining about no co-op. I posted this in an topic, but not many people will read it sow i posted in here aswell. I think it is an great idea and i want some opinions about it, and hope that Crytek like the idea to.

How about Single-player (Story mode 1 player), Multi-player (Player vs Player) and Custom/Skirmish (1-4 players vs AI). A player can choose how many AI what kind of enemy's, setting and what missions you want to play, and what objects you want to do.

Then the system will generate an map with all the option that the player want, and every time you play. You will have an different mission, this will increase Crysis 2 game hours! And people that want to play Co-op are happy!

And many people want co-op, sow if Crytek put Custom/Skirmish in it, then they will sell more copies because it will increase game hours and people wanted co-op!

The game is coming out in less than a month, and this is a REALLY big addition to the game. It would probably be impossible to make a descent version of what you′re describing.
Maybe some modders will make a singleplayer version, but thats problably a lot to hope for.

Then the system will generate an map

So your solution is for Crytek to write software that automatically generates game quality maps using Cry Engine 3? Yes that sounds like the kind of thing you could fit into a busy 4 week schedule relatively easily.

Although you know what. Somebody could do this in the future using the Warhammer 40,000 "Space Hulk" franchise because the original board game already has a system for randomly generating levels from modular pieces of corridor rooms corners and junctions. You could of course end up with an infinite number of Space Hulk levels that all look basically the same but at least in Space Hulk they're supposed to look the same.

I think that they don't have to generate different maps every time, but use existing multiplayer or single player maps.
This is a good idea but I doubt they'll have enough time to add it in now.
They can add this feature in future patches or dlcs though.

To do this they'd have to delay the release date of the game.
Now we don't want that do we ? :P

Fun fact: Blizz did it 11 years ago, with Diablo. The levels are all randomized. Not sayin' it's easy, just that it's already been done.

PS: Starcraft is a WH40k ripoff.

Never heard about DLC? Easy solution!

And to lose 5-15 euro's/dollors to increase the gametime, well that sounds an great deal. If you have more content then many people would buy it. DLC like CoD with 3-5 maps is ****, not my money worth! But something like this, people would love it!

Diablo? I wouldn't compare a sprite based game to Crysis 2, but ok.
Although great fun Warhammer 40,000 is one big rip off it just takes ideas from other places and mixes them together in one big melting pot. Space Marines and Genestealers for example are just the marines in aliens with big arsed storm trooper suits of various different colors fighting a poor mans version of Geigers alien.

But the Tyranids are more... nomnom-y than Geiger's Alien. And less raqe-y. And the obvious fact that WH itself is a collection of ripoffs doesn't make it right for SC.

I changed this topic to an DLC! Because it's impossible to import this option within 4 weeks. Hopefully many people would like this idea, and Crytek afcourse!

DLC should be free. If they want to make money on something like that they have to make a real expansion-pack and also sell that in stores.
Just like it was a few years ago.

Yeah that will be an great idea, but not every DLC cost money. This is an choice for Crytek!

Paid DLC for multiplayer is a bad idea it fragments the community and the game already cost $60 then add on $5 - $15 it just gets ridiculous.

$60 is cheap. $60 is here €43 (euro's)! I must paid €50 ($68,34). And some webshops are selling Crysis 2 for €43, but i need to paid the transport!

I respect orther people work, and this games cost alot to build! If Crytek can make an good DLC then i would buy it and not only an few maps like CoD, only 5 new maps. Nahhh maybe $2-3 not more! I respect other people work, and just keep you in mind. How more Crytek earn how quicker Crysis 3 will come, or many other games!!

And yes maybe could Crytek give us this in an update, but it is alot of work and people say just old time but time change and if you look in the past, a game is now expensiver to build!

Because an game to build take months maybe years, and who is going to paid all the stuff they use and the people who works, and many more!

And yes the work is easier because the programs are better, but it is expensiver! They cant give you all the time free stuff! That's maybe there are many modders, but i like the official stuff mutch better because they know alot of more then anybody els!
