When will we get a lobby system

Post » Sun Aug 16, 2009 4:18 am

Just wondering if there will ever be a lobby system incorporated as it would make it much easier to start games with your friends. At the moment it seems very backwards the way you have it, and could be a major decision why some people wont buy the game or return it. Is there work in progress to get this issue fixed?

They haven't updated us on what they are working on so I don't think anyone knows at the moment, they could add one for the 360/PS3, it's not such a problem for PC gamers though. We'll have to wait and see.

I hope we do get one eventually. Otherwise the game wont appeal much to competitive players.

...or people with friends. I'm sure we'll get something though, it's a big enough problem.

On console I think it's very important. I use the PS3 and every game I've played has it. Even borderlands has a lobby to get games going. I'm not much of a PC gamer myself but I now on the consoles we like to stick with people we play online with... Also taking in some randoms. I hope they do take notice and do something about it. Another thing is when you're inviting everyone the game is going off so you fall a little behind sending out all these invites.

I personally don't think a pre-game or after-game lobby is needed. The way it works now where there is almost no waiting in between games is fine.

However so kind of "lobby" where you can invite your friends into to rally everyone together and find a match as a group instead of an individual.

Im sorry but it is a deal breaker. This game like most top fps games are team work oriented and depended. So if you have a team (clan), you definitely need a lobby to get all your team (clan) in to compete. Its a HUGE difference. If they add a lobby then most of my friends from Black Ops will come over to Brink. Fix it please.

Homefront couldn't figure out how to get people into a room on the same team. Now Brink is doing the same? Has anyone at KAOS or Splash Damage played CoD or BFBC2? I'm trying these new franchises but they are scaring the hell out of my wallet with their unfinished products.

Multiplayer is supposed to be the only good part of this game, so what is the point of Brink if you can't play it?! Either none of my friends are stupid enough to buy this game or they have it on a different system. I wasted 60 dollars on an upolished and ridiculously stupid game. And how is it original, it copied TF2!

THIS^ I'm in the same boat man. The lobby system is what works and should be implemented. From what I've been hearing it seems thats the biggest complaint.

I see this game dying if they don't support Clans and have a lobby room where you can set up your team to go into a game.

yea i agree.. we are having the same issue on socom 4. zipper did announce on the third patch they will be incorporating a lobby/party system.. lets hope splash makes a move in the right direction and does the same thing

anyway i also noticed if you choose a "preferred map" you usually get put into a game with 0-2 players in it.. in which case you could quickly invite 5 people.. just an option for now that i have had success with

Yeah I've been doing that as well, but not all people are as patient as me and I've already seen people I know play the game and turned off of the idea because there is no lobby. Face it most consumers are lazy and want their hand held through things like setting up a game with a lobby. Especially if you want to have clan matched it's a must to get a lobby.

This is what is going to kill HomeFront.....and if FPS developers don't get it through their heads that FRIENDS play with FRIENDS, then the CoDs, KZ's and BF's will ALWAYS be the template for what a FPS should be........
I can only support new IPs for so long before I realize that developers have no clue what the hell makes a game successful...
I'm not saying copy a successful franchise but AT THE VERY LEAST use what makes it great.
