Crysis 2 Single Player Length

Cry-Lee: "The game will exceed most if not all current games in terms of SP play time."

Is the above still true for Crysis 2?

Funny to see how 12 hours is considered long. Didn’t any of you guys played games that took weeks if not months to complete. Looking at the total playtime it would still be multiple days. I'm happy that Crysis works on the length of the game but it's not like 12 hours is so extremely long.
Basically it means that even somebody with a life can finish it in a weekend.

Hey, it beats the current average length. Iirc, the 12-hour length was standard for shooters back in the day. Hell, I don't think even AVP2 took more than 12 hours to complete, assuming you didn't get lost too much. If you want long shooter campaigns, you need to go all the way back to System Shock 2 or Quake 1.

That's great! I'm so sick of CoD and their 4-5 hour long campaigns.

@ JackPumpkinhead

Yeah I’m also happy with it I’m just surprised at reactions like "WOOT 12 hours! Now that's a campaign!". It's very good compared to the current average length indeed but I personally would need about 72 hours before I go .."WOOT".

12 hours is just very nice.

18 hours isn't long. Mass Effect 1 has a minimum of 40 hours and not even that's long. Long is what DEFCON said, 72+ hours.

I do not know of one first person shooter game that took the average gamer weeks or months to complete, and i have been playing first person shooter games since the late 90's early 2000.

Also keeping in mind that Cryteks games have very good replayability value, 12 hours sounds good indeed.
I have played many levels from both Far Cry, Crysis and Warhead multiple times, it's great fun!
Like Nathan Camarillo said in an interview the gameplay of Crytek's games are very open, one get to choose how you want to play.
That's why Crytek games are my favorite FPS games, they are very dynamic in the way that you can choose how to play, there's room for tactics and creativity.

I know for a fact that if you explore and do all the missions available to you, Fallout 3 and New Vegas take a hell of a long time to complete.

FO3 and NV are atrocious as shooters. Mostly because it matters more what you're shooting with than where, +VATS which removes any sort of skill from aiming.

If you need an idea of the campaign's length, I watched about 10 playthrough vids of the leaked version on YouTube (more than 10 minutes each), aka a total of about 2 and a bit hours, and he only got to the third mission.

It's going to be long.
