Hi all I could be getting a new graphics card in April and was wondering if it could run crysis 1 on very high graphics with full anti-aliasing. It is either going to be an AMD Radeon HD 6850 or an AMD Radeon 6870.
As often said this depends on your resolution how much AA and Tessellation(if possible) you want etc. if you just get in in april till then there will be lots of benchmarks out i think. wait for them
You should be able to run it fine but i'd also suggest using a custom config such as C.U.D.A.A.T.S [CCC] v2.21 as they give you much better visuals and performance than standard very high.
I run a GTX 570 and it gets 32fps running Enthusiast (very high) DX10 with full AA on Crysis Warhead.
If you want to get a stable fps (30+) running on the highest settings, you will require a GTX 570/Radeon HD 6970 or a GTX 580. Anything lower will result in lower than 30fps which personally, starts to get noticeable lag for me.
@ Talon95 AA kills the performance big time in all Crysis games... but for 1680*1050 2-4x AA a Gtx 275/280/285 would be enough for enthusiast settings to bring 30FPS.
