More like something like HD-TV...

But yeah, it is weird because all it is is a infra-red-view. A worse one, too as cloaking doesn't appear as it would with real one. But the again - according to the small preview-videos within the game, it actually causes the nanosuit to boost your EYEBALLS rather being a part of the visor.

Well it does boost ur "eyeballs" because then u can see people high lighted and u can see stealth people... but the reason why arent u seeing stealthed ones as the ones that arent using stealth is because stealth is called for a reason... nanosuit covers itself and weapon with some crystals that are letting light to pass by and make em invisible to our eyes and it also almost covers ur heat signature so u arent detected that easily. They really did a good job there and if u stand at the sun u can see RGB colours on ur suit because light is too strong and crystals cant let by that strong light so u see the suit :P Research abit people! Suits like these will be pretty much available to military in year 20-23

Nanosiute use crystallized irregular surface to reflect light waves in random directions or absorb them which in theory should make object invisible, but in real life never happen since there is no crystals which reflect or absorb light waves which have random frequency. Sure in lab when someone use light waves with fixed frequency and crystal which can absorb that specified frequency then hiding small object from human eye is possible.
