Counter-Strike-style Search & Destroy/Bomb Plant & Defuse

There are two game modes that functionally play exactly the same (Crash Site & Assault); both play in a manner where a team moves to a location that has a range-sensitive objective and camp there to gain points/protect objective. This is incredibly boring (I can prove it by simply directing you to the Assault game-modes player count as well as the fact that it takes forever to join a match with that game mode).

I really wish that there was a game mode where players of one team must defend a few important locations against the other team who's goal is to sabotage only one of them by planting explosives and force the other team to defuse the explosives.

I feel that Crytek had considered this game mode, but decided to scrap it due to gameplay issues that would arise (Nanosuit soldiers could cross large map distances very quickly, maps were not designed with this game mode in mind, etc.).

How many of you guys would love the idea of playing on the "Classic" modifier with a Search & Destroy/Bomb Plant & Defuse game mode?

I am 100% for it. Also maybe in a future DLC Crytek may release bigger maps so this game mode would be suitable the standard game type.

We have Assault, which is much better. What Crysis 2 needs is vehicle-focused game modes

Do you even know what the hell you are even talking about?

Assault game mode is, in all manner of ways, nothing like what Search & Destroy/Bomb Plant & Defuse is supposed to play like. Have you even played it in any other game that provides it?

How is assault better than something that is nothing like something else? It's like you are saying a Prius is better than a grilled-cheese sandwich; they are nothing alike in any way.

Well, if I think about it, this wouldn't fit. Cuz the spear would also kill the Cell.....okay, the idea of normal Search&Destroy Bomb remains....^^'

Well, if I think about it, this wouldn't fit. Cuz the spear would also kill the Cell.....okay, the idea of normal Search&Destroy Bomb remains....^^'

Yes, but then you'd only have one team. Or one team has to play as ceph, but that would steal the possibility to level your modules. (Something I hate in Assault)

These are excellent ideas, a traditional game mode would work, but having a rehashed game mode like what they did to Crysis 2 (comparing it to Crysis 1) would be great as well.

Let's just say... CS is just "deathmatch with no respawns"; the objectives like plant the bomb/rescue hostages are ignored, no-one bothers.
On the other hand, in Assault it's harder for the attackers to just eliminate the defenders because they're aren't equal

I hope they don't remove the suicide bug where the bomb was dropped out of the building(Skyline or Impact) where the players try to retrieve the bomb and jump and die oh and I hope they make a scream like in counter-strike!!!
