One thing everyone needs to realize is that if you want to record a game that is at 1080P and at 60FPS and you don't want the FPS to fall, you not only need a fast CPU to handle the writing of the video (and still run the game smooth) but you need to be writing to a hard drive that has some pretty fast write speeds. I bought a separate 1TB Black Caviar WD drive to record to. With windows and Crysis on my other 1TB BC drive AND trying to record to the same hard drive too, it would drop too low at times, especially if the drive was barely fragmented.
I can record around 45-60FPS with 1080P and Crysis 2 max with Fraps, usually sits around 45 (vsync on). Turning off vsync can give a slight boost in some cases as well.
