I recently read an article that Microsoft wanted to get more gamers back to Windows. That’s why the next Windows should pay a lot of attention to gamers. So PC is MS to. I don't know if Nvidia also had their hands in it. I know they did with Crysis 1 and they are already using Crysis 2 on their sites to promote their cards, so it's likely there also investing in Crysis 2. That makes 2 companies (MS and Nvidia) that want to have a good PC-version. Of course for now MS will have its main focus on the Xbox but still. Maybe it's something like. Make it a marvel on the PC but before release only show Xbox stuff.

Hahahaha! Microsoft has been claiming PC gaming support since Windows 95. Other than DirectX (and even that was garbage until DirectX 9), Microsoft has only done more harm to PC gaming than good.

In fact, Microsoft (along with Nvidia), recently left the PC Gaming Alliance: http://www.gamereactor.eu/news/6542/Microsoft+leaves+PCGA/?cat=news

Microsoft just has a lot more interest in the Xbox 360 since they can screw more money out of people there. Microsoft tried to screw PC gamers a while back with Vista exclusivity and trying to make them pay for Live with Games for Windows Live. Microsoft claimed to be supporting PC gaming back then and yet all they did was launch a label (Games for Windows) and release a few shoddy ports of old games (Halo 2 and Gears of War, a year or more after they were released on the Xbox/Xbox 360 and they even slapped Vista exclusivity on Halo 2 even though it was originally on the Xbox, a DirectX 8 machine).

Microsoft can lick my asscrack. They're only in it to screw over people and force them to pay for things that should be free.

crysis 1 seemed really destructible. I'll be happy if i can still shoot down a bunch of trees, at least some structures, and be able to run into a store off of the street and have cans and food and whatever else falling all around me as the enemies fire random shots in there to hit me. :D

I think people are forgetting the setting of Crysis 2. It's NYC. Big buildings all over the place. The buildings you could destroy in Crysis 1 were small shacks. Even if this was a PC only game, do you know what a huge pain in the ass it would be to program the game so the player is allowed to bring down huge skyscrappers at will?

Yeah, I don't think the tech is that advanced yet, but if it had been pc exclusive then you would have probably been able to atleast blow holes in walls and stuff like that. But now Crysis 2 has less destructible maps. Even most of the windows won't break so it's really just a step back in destructibility.

I don't know if you can blow holes in walls. You may be able to, I never tried it. But I do know that you can damage rebar reinforced concrete pillars. Concrete will fall off revealing rebar underneathe. You can't completely distroy it, but at least it's better than nothing.

If you want real destruction play Red Faction.

Best destruction of any game so far, dynamic and great, shame the shooting aspect was totally turd and made no sense at all.

Bad Company isnt anything impressive. only noobs rave about it but if you look at it closely a billow of smoke covers up a dissapearing wall and the collapsing buildings are totally scripted, not impressive at all.

im looking BF3 to take a leaf out of Red factions book, like if you take out the supports on a building it will come down and topple over in dynamic ways instead of just creating a big billow of smoke.

So you are saying that people aren't allowed to rave about it being a great game because the destruction is isn't dynamic? Nah, just kidding. I know what you meant, I was just giving you hard time.

Well, I remember scripted building destruction in Rampage for the original Nintendo. So these days, yeah, I expect more.

Crysis had some noteable destruction, but not at the level of BC2.But asking for BC2 level of destruction in C2 is bit too much.Remember you are playing in New York, which is a real Global City. You wont just be destroying some random buildings, but actual landmarks, keep that in mind.If the aliens destroy the buidings in a pre renderd cutscene its cool, but if the player as the option of destroying lets say The Empire State Building then that is going a bit too far.Crytek knows this and thats why they have kept destruction to a minimum.

From what people are saying of the leaked build (again, I don't have it, before you get paranoid), there's no tree destruction like in C1. That might have changed by the time of the final release, though.

Why are people so paranoid of others' thinking that they've got the leaked game? Any mention of it on these forums is immediately followed by "OMG I don't have it!! I played it on a friend's PC!! Pls dnt kill me!!11" or some such.

I'm all for supporting the developers and buying the games they work so hard on, but seriously, your dog won't be eaten just because some random on the internet accuses you of piracy.

(PS. I DON'T HAVE THE LEAK!!! I've lived in an underground nuclear bunker for 10 years. Is the war over yet? Can I come out now? What's a computer?)

Heh, well I guess that's alright then. Remember kids, for every game you pirate, a leprechaun has to perform a jig for a day. Think of the leprechauns!!

You've just given me a reason to never buy a game again. I hate leprechauns.

I despised how easy it was to level a forest in C1. Absolutely unrealistic. Small and medium caliber rifles do NOT knock down trees with a few well placed shots.

Me and my friend tried to shoot down a pine tree, with a couple hundred rounds of 7.62x39, about 90 rounds of .40 and 400 or so .22 LR. Fairly small pine tree. It looked kinda chewed up, but it was still standing.
