Hey everyone, I managed to find this link regarding Gamespy and Linksys routers. I can't try it yet myself (have to dig up my password and cable internet details), but I thought it might be worth looking into for those who can modify their settings now. If Necrosado's trick works for others, post your results here. The more confirmations of success we post here, the better the chances of getting a patch that would resolve the issue.
Go to your desktop and double click on Internet Explorer (Located on the Start Menu in Windows XP)
2. When "Internet Explorer" opens type http://192.168.1.1 into the "Address" bar and click on Go or [Enter].
3. The "Enter Network Password" window will appear.
4. Skip the user name and type admin (admin is the default password) as the password, and click OK
5. Click on the Advanced tab.
6. Click on the Forwarding tab.
7. Click on the Port Triggering button, and a new window will appear. You will need Input Game Spy as the “Application Name” and ports 6500 and 6700 as both the “Triggered” and “Incoming Port Ranges.”
Application Name Triggered Port Range Incoming Port Range
Game Spy 6500 ~ 6700 6500 ~ 6700
8. Click Apply and then Continue.
For most users, This won't apply, As C2 will either have already been added as an exception to the firewall (either windows or automatic portforwarding), The user will have setup their machine to be in the DMZ, Or they wont have a router at all.
I am in the DMZ, And up until about 10 minutes prior to this post, Ive been able to login and play without issue.
Now, Upon opening C2 and trying to login, I get a message saying "can not connect to multiplayer" bla bla bla. It cant be a connectivity issue, Since I'm able to post this from the very same machine, On the very same net connection.
