IIRC, they weren't going to release a demo for it at all, but after the PC Gamer community had a moan, they decided that it might be within their best interest to oblige.

I can only go by the feedback I've been reading about this demo, along with the screenshots as I still haven't been able to get past the account creation process. And I'm no expert of course, but due to time constraints and lack of resources a not so illogical hypothesis is that this demo for the "PC" is basically something they threw together/ported with the 360 code. To further back this up: a lot of people are saying that it's running in DX9, which goes hand in hand with the fact that the installer is only 1.6GB.

However, I played the single player Alpha code in January at an EA gaming event in Sydney, and it didn't "feel" like a port then. So I still live in hope that ONLY this demo has been consolified, but not the FULL release for the PC.

I have a strange thing where I don't understand anything...
I have a gamesas account(yay) In the demo , I enter my Log In details.
I press "log in"... The Logging in loading...and 5 seconds later,they go back to the log in menu...WTF
Please help me...

Then i can connect to demo version ? I two days cliking on login button and i don't have any results

we are trying to play on from ea picked servers i hope on cryteks servers the bugs will be fixed

For those who want to play right now:
Create a new Account ingame by using a new E-Mail-adress. While creating it you have to be sure, that the nick you want to chose is not in use already. If you want to create an account with a nick that is already taken, you will neither be abled to create this one nor to re-use the e-mail.

The Demo is Awesome! I dunno why, but My Ping is kinda high but still I can Kill someone, but I don't know the others if they could kill me fast too.. GREAT Job Crytek!

it wont even let me login and play the demo! and now i think i cant even use my email add when the game comes out? have you guys killed this game for me? i have already pre purchased from steam and now i really wish i had not! if this is a sighn of things to come i feel like i just lost money for no reason! i guess the joke is on us gamers thinking we could have faith in first person shooter again! its all about making the money now and not what the gamers want.. from the intro i saw of the demo it looked goo too! chances are i wont be able to play it though!! i have already sent emails away but i cant really see anyone there caring. i get lot of "disconnected from server" messenges and that really piss me off, but the demo is fun to play (when it's working)

i can't login in the game. I was pressing "login", but info downloading and nothing happens...... =( What is a bag?

omg what is this game....i was about to buy this game but after saw what they are doing with this game and no dx11 and console ports now i won′t buy it ....and i hope lots of people do the same.....this is joking with pc gamers..... shame on crytek

No Public Dedicated Server- no Game! Demo is a BIG FAIL from Crytek. I not bayng it! Too many cheaters on the Servers, no PB, texturbugs (in DEMO). We will PC playing not XBOX or PS3! We weiting 1,5 Year fo ****!I will this Game not having! Thanks Crytek!

liked the demo but it have issues that needs to be fixed have also bought the game on steam
