IT'S OFFICIAL-PS3 BAD PORT

Post » Thu Jun 02, 2011 8:46 pm

Can't say I told you so :

IGN had a hands-on with Crysis 2 on ps3

''The verdict? Not so great, unfortunately. The performance of the PS3 version is pretty underwhelming. The framerate is frequently low and choppy. There are jagged lines everywhere, and shadows are especially messy. There's a muddiness to the graphics that's hard to stomach in the wake of the PS3's other flagship showpieces, and worse, the variable framerate really hurts controller response.''

IGN svcks dude. Wait for the demo before proclaiming bad port because one guy said so. No other site is mentioning problems. IGN always tried to hate on ps3. Just wait for the demo I have been saying this for weeks but every day someone new has to come and post some stupid article about it.

here is a video from gamespot showing ps3 multiplayer at GDC...8 minutes worth and I don't see any framerate issues or "jaggies"

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/gdc-11-crysis-2/711164

That is a different showing from gametrailers. Let me know if you guys see any issues besides the obvious popins because there are pop ins on the ps3 and xbox 360.

Ever since they did AvP's review from last year with a copy/paste review from the 360 version, Yeah I stopped altogether. IGN has always been a great place to get cheat codes for games. Not reviews.... Plus the gameplay I saw on the PS3 Gameplay looked pretty good. Nathan Camarillo however, needs to learn how to shoot and talk at the same time. Although I did like his suicide tactic with grenades. I used to do that in COD2.

Ive got three comments for that

1.http://www.computerandvideogames.com/291967/news/crysis-2-looks-bad-on-ps3-psm3-disagrees/
A magazine all about playstation said that article was bogus.

2.The guy who wrote that IGN article is notoriously biased against PS3

3."Our videos don't present this well because of the realities of HD video capture" - which basically means "The videos somehow makes frame-rate better even though thats physically impossible. I'm just saying its lagy cus I'm a Xbot trololol."

IGN and their daily viewers are ass holes who have low self esteem that try to convincingly lie to make themselves feel good.

I used to go on IGN every day 10 years ago but now they're all a bunch of casual lamers who started gaming with ps2 and xbox...I don't really bother. The guys who could be good editors end up just goin along with the crowd which really svcks.

So ... does this mean the 360 was the lead platform, with PC getting a poop port and PS3 getting a poopier port?

Seems like it.

IGN is mad biased against PS3 and 360 depending on the day of the week LOL. One day they hate the 360 and praise the PS3, next day they hate PS3 and praise the 360. I guess it depends on the author but I have seen them biased against both systems,

Isn't this the same guy who was complaining about the 360 demo saying that the characters weren't responsive/sluggish? I wouldn't take this seriously.

Yeah, I don't trust IGN, they're not exactly a great site for reviews. There are better gaming review sites out there.

Plus, some of the commenter's call the author biased against PS3, or something towards that.

How do you figure IGN is "hating on the PS3", when they are telling how the DEVELOPER did a BAD JOB porting it to PS3.
That has NOTHING to do with them saying PS3 is bad, it is them saying the CRYTEK messed up.
If they also mention that it is particularly bad since there are games on PS3 that look and plays a ton better.

One of the best looking console games of all time is Uncharted 2, I am a PC player a " PC Master race one at that".
Yet I own a PS3 and I've played Uncharted 2 and it DOES look great.

It is painfully obvious that this game was made on the 360 and poorly ported to PS3 and PC.

PC version has "press start" and no GFX options and Auto-Aim assist, can you FN believe it, aim assist.

Crytek is making themselves into a second rate developer.

You can bich all you want about IGN, but too me they seem to get tougher with their game reviews. Which is a good thing.
I look at about 10 review sites to form an opinion and if a reviewer mention they have a problem with a game in how it plays I DO take notice.
I sincerely don't think IGN has a hidden agenda with saying they have problems with a DEMO or a game.

Ultimately yes a reviewer is just another opinion from a journalist, so look for several reviews.

But clearly Crytek are shooting themselves in their feet with how FN stupid they are with specifically the PC demo.

I've played the map and it isn't that fun. Skyline and Pier 17 are far better maps.

ps3 port? isnt this game built on all 3 platforms in real time? did u even saw how crytek 3 works? its like u create it on the pc and it automatically creates the same stuff but with less textures and details on the 360 and ps3.. im pretty sure they made so that the game will run smoothly on both consoles tho
