Crysis 2 - Slower Computers

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 1:38 am

I'm loving the demo, even from my slower machine (solid specs save for mediocre GTX 315 half-gigabyte GPU). However, the motion blur, which is supposed to be subtle, can really screw up performance when I play the game. Sprinting enemies are not hard to hit, but impossible to hit. Actually hitting your target while moving is also very difficult. I've seen gameplay videos of what the game should look and play like, and mine is definitely off...

In any case, an option to turn off the motion blur would be really helpful (in addition to some other options... having only 3 settings is plain annoying). It's currently the only real game-breaker for me.

If Cry2 is supposed to be more accessible than its predecessors, this is an important element to consider.

Oh my god, a reasonable complaint... Yes. Motion blur is a rather annoying graphics option if your rig can't handle it. Mine doesn't have an issue, but blur can shred your reaction time on a slower rig. Frankly, I'm astounded that given the diversity of PCs, and the preferences of gamers, we can't adjust more of the graphics, even in the demo.

I don't know if I am allowed to say that, but you CAN switch the motion blur off.
Just create a ...I think.. shortcut of the "Crysis2Demo.exe" on your desktop, then open the..."Attributes" of the shortcut and add " +r_motionblur 0" after "/Crytek/bin32/Crysis2Demo"" (or so)(The space before +r is needed!(I think))(Yes, I wrote " two times. The one behind Demo is needed, I think). Just klick OK and then start the shortcut.

Someone in crysis-hq.com solved this problem. You can turn off the glow, too.
If I'm not allowed to tell that, an Admin shall delete this post, please. :)

like there is any point in deleting - almost everybody plays with custom config via shortcut.
