The only things exclusive on the EA store are the gold dogtag frame and the desert camo skin. Everything else can be unlocked through regular play.

I imagine it's just the image people see as your dogtag background (like all the other dogtags), it is also probably a gold colour.

See this?
Specifically the Platinum Dogtag?
The EA version gives you a gold version of that, along with the platinum one.

I always get my stuff from Amazon, as I have rarely had a problem with them and the few times I have, they were very helpful and went above and beyond to fix it. Plus, I can get the game on release day for less than buying it new from a physical store. Good retailers deserve business, IMO.

I don't trust "the cloud", so you won't be seeing a recommendation for Steam from me.

I like Amazon too. The games arrive in my mailbox on release day, it's cheaper (e.g. I got Assassin's Creed II for only $55) or they offer a $10 giftcard for the next purchase.

Only if you buy it used. The people who sell brand new copies of games on eBay are rarely more than $10 cheaper. And then you have to pay shipping.

When did devs become "the wrong people"?
Here's a newsflash: devs don't sell copies on e-bay, and no one gets any money at all from second-hand sales. The initial buyer sells at a loss, the publisher and the dev get exactly 0.
